On the other hand most ppl winning are young. Cooller was young when he dominated, cypher and av3k is young and rapha isnt that old either. The only exception i can think of is toxic in q4 altough he wasnt/isnt so old.

Might be the youngsters are able to get more playtime also :)

No one is asking me, I hear people talking about playing and competing in CS and not going to college because of it. A lot of people from my hometown are like this. When I hear this I explain how it's extremely unlikely that it will take them anywhere, and it's best for them to keep another career inline. Do both. If CS fails, you have something to fall back upon.

I'm not acting like a pro gamer, I don't think I am one, and people don't rush up to me asking me for advice all day. I think maybe you just took something the wrong way. It's understandable.

Practice games...
Players in practice often play not for the win, but to try different things and see if they work out. As an example, see jibo's practice matches at asian finals. Prozac basically raped him winning like 70% of the games with huge score difference, yet in the real tourney next day jibo easily defeated prozac not giving a chance to take even a single map.

There's losers who don't attent tournaments who spend their entire gaming lives living off practice games they played. Frantically retelling stories to anyone who will listen about the time they only lost by 1 frag to such and such a progamer or the time they took a map from a pro.

There are some people who always assume if they are beaten their opponent was playing at his best level while they were not playing at theirs but if they beat their opponent they never consider perhaps he was not playing at his best level.

He's played 138(!) games in the past 5 days, clearly esr has motived him with all the disappointment that ensued his invitation. And he surprised a whole lot of people at Quakecon - him advancing the groups in Germany isn't impossible. But you can't just start playing a week before an event like this, I don't expect him to qualify but he probably won't get raped either. Kind of hoping he does though just for the humour. (advance, that is)
