I'm looking for awesome oldschool DOS games to play.

I currently have:
Prince of persia,
supaplex,
skyroads.

So, not a whole lot!

Also I'm looking for 1 game in particular, it's a deathmatch game that featured jumppads, I'm sure it's older than quake and had doom-like graphics.
Also the maps where big and open, and there were powerups.
The game fit on a few floppy disks I think, or maybe even on just one.

Anyway, post (link) some good DOS games :-D

did Gloom even come on pc? im sure it didnt, seeing as it came a few years after doom

i had a few versions on the amiga the best being gloom deluxe

it's different genres so it might be best to say what genre you are looking for.

and also I always feel that trady simulations and strategy games age much but than say driving simulations.
And I find that no fps pre-qw are the enjoyable anymore. For example the game you asked about, rott, was loads of fun back then (Heatseeking Missiles, CLuster Missiles, Firewaves :P) and we played it lots and lots but the weapons are outdated by now.

But of course feel free to check it out for yourself. (But Top 3 won't work ;) )

The one thing Daggerfall has that pretty much no other game has is a ridiculously massive mostly seamless world, thanks to the procedural/random terrain. There's also probably more dungeons and towns than MMOs, even though they are mostly cookie-cutter.

If you remember if you game had a glowing baseball bat that shot exploding balls and firewall and firebombs and heat seekers.

I really dislike bullfrog, they always got the best ratings, although their games weren't really good, they were somehow well produced and had good graphics, but they weren't just any fun, I think they only got good evaluations from magazines because they tried to innovative gameplay, but in my opinion innovative gameplay does not mean that the game is good.

but I still remember the intro( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGvIrf86g4Y&feature=related ) , and I still remember the phrase "Have a productive day, executive" :-), but tbh. I never played that game beyond the first mission ... was so boring somehow, nothing happenend, and you lost your troop in about 5 seconds if you act wrong ... these mouseclickaction games all suck tbh.,
mouseclick in rpg is ok, but not in action games ...

not so sure x-com enemy unknown had also research options.
X-Com was a round based action-strategy game where you also commanded a troop which could equip individually ...
and outside the roundbased action-strategy missions, you had to build up a base and make research similar to a strategy game like master of orion ...

I know x-com, see #22 and yeah I wuold say it was the better game.

But I played syndicate at least a year earlier than Syndicate (moved town in between and I remember with which friends it was) so for me it was the first with research in a strategy game.

Almost forgot about Little Big Adventure.

One of the most fun action/adventure games ever! And it has a windows xp patch that also takes care of annoying shit like taking damage when you run into a wall.
