Not whining or anything, I couldn't care less how England do but they were missing Hart in goal (Premiership goalkeeper versus some random youth keeper from Watford...) and the two forwards (Gotta laugh at playing Walcott up front on his own). It's hilarious how they all got themselves banned in the semi-final to be honest.

Stuart Pearce is a moron, he's got no idea how to set out a team to exploit his best players.

All the German youth teams are amazingly strong, loads of great players.

Walcott seemed so lost all of the game. it was stupid.

while germany played the final with a pure striker for the first time. all the other games they had özil+another midfielder up front.

özil is my fav. player atm. he's so quick and agile, it's ridiculous.

Hart should learn to control himself.
Getting a yellow for unsportsmanship behaviour during penalties is noob mistake :).

Dunno if walcott was out of place or something, but he did not impress. Pace is nice, yes, but without the ability to score or pass after you run fast, its useless :)

Pearce has no idea how to use Walcott at all, he has a lot more to his game than pace but England are incapable of using his strengths as they are rubbish in midfield.

His usage of Walcott has been ridiculous:
Played -> Dropped -> Played -> Dropped -> Played (et cetera)

Then he tries to play him as a lone striker with a midfield that has no real quality or creativity with mediocre passing ability (Muamba and Milner).

Sounds similar to Swedens senior team and Ibrahimovic.
A class forward needs good midfield to do well.

I didnt think Milner did bad though, he seemed quite good to me.

I didn't watch the game, but him and Muamba are distinctly mediocre.

Learn to make logical arguments, England are by no means vastly inferior.

If you want to argue about the circumstances of the last Euros by all means say so because there isn't much standing for Germany to be considered vastly superior despite England not being present.

um last 6 Eurocups we won once, were a finalist two more times and a semi - finalist one more time.
England was a semi-finalist once. In their own country.

Everyone and their mom knows FIFA rankings are bs to begin with, especially if you happen to host the EC/WC, as the need to qualify robs you of any chance to gather points for a whole year as friendly matches don't count.


That being said, I'd say they are about even atm:). England definately has improved quite a lot the last year or so.

You're right that the FIFA rankings aren't great, but they give a good indication to the skill level of the teams.

England hasn't even really improved that much, Croatia, Russia and Israel were all very strong opponents in the European qualifiers and that was reflected in the points totals (And performances in the cup).

The results of the last 4 years are taken into account, and germany had their first official match sometime in june 2006 after more than a year of friendlies only (except confed cup, but if I remember correctly they didn't count either...could be wrong though), so we're still missing a whole year. Not that I matters, since I call bs on the whole ranking anyway :), for better or worse.

I didn't check how far they went back, four years is quite a long time and England got to the Quarters (again!) there.
