Lots of sales of Rage puts id in a position to fund a new Quake if they want to make it. If Rage fails they have to play it safe so they will have to release something they think will sell very well, a quake arena game probably isn't that game. Boycotting Rage is like biting the hand that feeds you, if it is good I'll buy it (as long as it doesn't have online activiation which has never stoped pirates anyways).

If rage is good I'm gonna buy it and play it. But I doubt it will be good.

just remember that I live in Ukraine and even if I really wanted to buy a game, it would not be possible. I can buy a russian version, which is supposed to be legal, but those cost ~10$ so id probably wouldn't get anything...

I own (paid for) all 4 Quake games, and still have the cases and cd's for each. I'd hardly start breaking that tradition now.

agreed. getting all id games is like a tradition, having all those cases on your wall is better than any poster

The only quake that I don't actually own is the original. I should probably go on steam and purchase the dooms and the first quake and probably a couple others, but I'm not sure as to when I'm ever going to have time to actually play them.

in my opinion it is a good way to have sp-only games.

A mix of both sucks most times.. depends where they're focusing on, sp or mp. Then we have another 0815-cs-like mp shooter in the world of "esport".
