Why do game devs find it so fucking difficult to come up with new words for 'elf', 'goblin', 'troll'.

They supposedly put months of effort into realising a new and interesting world, rich with content for the gamer to explore. Then they populate it with entities that haven't changed in 20,000 years.

Total Overdose.

Tones of fun, nice gameplay (gta style but NOT a copy). Mice storyline, action and minigames + unlockables. Played it a year ago.

Duke Nukem 3D + high resolution (it looks really good)
the singleplayer is great fun.. with a lot of secrets and nifty puzzles.. like firing the Shrinker into a mirror to shrink yourself and go through some pipes, etc. :)

and you'll need one file from the original game.. you can find it with google: DUKE3D.GRP

put in the same dir: the first 3 zips (don't extract), eduke32 & duke3d.grp.

once you have them all: make a shorcut of eduke32.exe and include these parameters "/gduke3d_xtr.zip /gupdate203a.zip /gmaphacks203.zip /gduke3d_sd.zip"

click 'n run

Psychonauts
visual style looks cartoony, but the themes are very mature deep inside. Besides, if you enjoyed Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle or Grim Fandango you definately will enjoy this one.

Railroad Tycoon 3.

Funny, I wanted to play Sid Meier's Railroads! But after digging some forums about this game I found out that it was not as great as a game called "Railroad Tycoon 3".
So I got RT3 and I can say it's one of the greatest singleplayer games I've ever played.

this could mean just simly leveling up, or minigames, new guns, new gamemodes, characters etc.

Final Fantasy 7 ffs. it's worth to be played over and over again ...

you can spend quite a while to get all your characters lvl 99 hp 9999 and get all your materias to master!

i spent my final year of high school playing that game instead of doing homework :)

so let down by sephiroth. after you level all your chars, and use the w-item glitch + magic pots in the northern crater he just isnt a challenge. I had the BASE stats for cloud, vincent, barret and tifa all up to 255. such a fkn amazing game.

Mafia: City of Lost Heaven

Completed the game like 4-5 times, it's so freaking fun, and you can drive free ride afterwards and unluck all kinds of crazy cars etc, the storyline is very good also.

Yes, Factions was the worse GW Chapter Ever.
I'd Give 10 to Prophecies (the original one), 8 to Nightfall (they made it so much casual friendly) and 5 to Factions.

The Only use I have for Factions atm is some Skills and Alliance Battles.

Those games weren't released in Europe sadly, NA got an influx of RPG games after the success of FFVII. NA runs on NTSC as opposed to the PAL of the UK for example so someone can only play that game even if they bought the US version if they have their PS modded which I do but a lot of people don't seem to. Too bad because they were pretty good RPGs for the Jap style.

Elder Scrolls 3 : Morrowind

I'm not gonna Say "Oblivion" as it's a shame to the Elder Scrolls Series. And I'm praying day and night that "Fallout 3" won't be "Oblivion with Guns" !

oblivion was rather fun imo. Had more fun with it then with morrowind, but that could be because i sucked at both english and games when I played it.

Now playing jade empire, great fun...

Well Oblivion had more "Eye Candy" etc.
But had Major problems too. The most obvious was the "Inventory"!
