I guess transporting a few hundred 19" CRTs to the event was pretty expensive hence the rental price, plus now the equipment is "used" so loses resell value I guess

couldve sold the monitors for the same price and cut the transportation costs by 50% :P

I guess the vast majority of players who rented monitors didn't want to bring one back either
