Mike Caro's book about poker tells is ok too, but ofc not for internet poker :)

I will have to buy harington on holdem.. I'd recommend Play poker like the pro's by Phil hellmuth, goes into great detail on all forms of poker from nl holdem, omaha hi low, pot limit, limit and what he recommends what you should do in all different kind of situations.. How to effectivly play top pairs and middle pairs etc. It is was my first poker book and i just found it to be a good read and has helped my game

Limit Hold'em : Winning Low Limit Hold'em, Small Stakes Hold'em, Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players.

No Limit Hold'em : Harrington Volume 1 and 2.

Pot odds : Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker.

Must read : Theory of Poker.

There really aren't many NLHE ring game books that are worth reading. I would simply get Sklansky's Holdem, Holdem for Advanced Players & Theory of Poker. They're limit books, but they are valid.

Harrington on Holdem is interesting, and has several points that apply to ring games, but I wouldn't recommend learning ring games from it.

Super/System doesn't really teach a NLHE strategy that works too well these days, but again, a large part of it is still applicable, but I'd rather play and work out which parts are from there.

Phil Helmuth's book is a bit crap. So is Poker for Dummies - that's fine for telling you the basics, but that's not exactly rocket science.

Weighing the Odds in Holdem Poker isn't really something to pickup if you're starting out. King Yao (or is it Ying Kao? Whatever) is a relatively high stakes Limit player too, and the book only looks at limit.

Winning Low Limit Holdem isn't much use for NL. Lee Jones is a NL fish (I've played with him a fair bit)

Big Deal is indeed good. Positively 5th Street & Poker Nation are too. I am reading "The Poker Face of Wall Street" at the moment.

Ace on the River is a good book, but it doesn't really teach you the nuts & bolts of the game. However, it does teach you a lot that's directly linked to the game but isn't down to playing the cards.

Reuben has done some good books - "How Good is your Pot Limit Holdem", and with Ciaffone, "Big Bet Holdem". I'd probably look at those & Super/System, along with the Sklansky books I suggest.

By far the most important thing is to play a lot.
