and phrantic didn't work for me either, just froze on 'loading game media'

phrantic works fine here. on that note, cooller has awesome rockets

yea when he moves around the map, he has less fluid movement than some of the other players. But he has some of the best rocket dodging skills I've seen. He just seems so unpredictable in infights...

Via_d3w_q4tourney_mp_large and via_d3w_q4tourney_mp_small both have different versions of methtourney1.pk4. For this demo you need to use the one from the small mappack. What a mess...

yeah it has the top three maps from the VIA Mapping Comp... i just downloaded the individual links from the site (not the pack) and it worked fine... I don't understand why ppl have such trouble playing demos... they always work for me

ya I know it was from the VIA Map Competition. people have problems playing demos because the demo playing has problems. not every one wants to look up on how the demos are FUBARed this way and that and how to remedy it.

i have all the VIA maps and cant play it.

I downloaded them individually... and it worked for me... I didn't have most of the maps when I downed it...

I can't see the galang demo. Map loading stops just before the loading bar finishes. How can I see which maps are missing or what is the problem? I've tried looking into the consoles messages but can't find anything, or maybe I don't know where to read the messages or how to interepret them.

At first the galang demo wouldn't play even tho I had all the maps needed. So I removed all the unnecessary files from q4base and voila it works...

The galang demo was no problem to watch.

BUT

only to watch the phrantic demo i searched with google for:

q4replay pk4 check is successfull but when i start the demo it still misses one file.

I tried methtourney1.pk4 from the large and from the small package.
monsoon is the latest final.


WTF else can i do to watch this demo?

i spent 30 minutes only to watch this crap game demo and thats to much.
i´m not gonna search files for hours for every different demo.

i have tried different pk4s with identical names but different file sizes aswell. (monsoon.pk4, methtourney.pk4)
i have deleated unnesessary pk4 and so on.

i think there is nothing to do but wait for the 1gig patch and hope they fix it.

Try this:

When you start the demo and get the error, type in the console demo_enforceFS 0 and quit Quake4. Start the demo again, just make sure demo_enforceFS is not checked.

This worked for me...
