There are a lot of ignorant people in America who simply get hungry and eat. To them, it's just 'me = hungry, food = good'. They don't think beyond the scope of their own hunger patterns. There's really nothing malicious intended by it. At least, not by the individuals doing it. If anyone is the culprit, it's the government for using the 'make the rich richer, the poor poorer' ethic. I'm sure you're aware America has the worst education system out of all the most industrialized nations.
