ra3's been dead for years. Every once in a while ppl still play on CROM, but that's increasingly rare.

I'm aware. I'm primarily a ctf player and I was away from q3 for about 3 years after I switched to mac and didn't know about ioquake or other q3 binaries that worked well in os x. I'm running the regular quake3.exe engine dual booted in windows 7 now.

Crom CTF is garbage ... i noticed they just upped the player limit to 36 ... because it wasn't already ridiculous enough. It's noob spam, not skill.

I don't understand what happened to ra3 in the time I was gone though. It used to be one of the biggest mods in quake3 it's strange to see it just completely die before everything else. There's got to be enough players out there still interested in playing it if there was some decent servers that actually had people joining them.

Like I said though, if enough people say they are interested I will pay for some servers as soon as I am able to.

Crom CTF uses some dynamic maxclients shit based on how many people (including bots) are connected.

As far as all weapon CTF goes, your options are pretty limited. You could play at Crom if you don't mind baseq3, a lot of no skilled players (18v18 q3ctf1 anyone?) and server locations that change every few months.

Ah. I know Crom uses scripts to have bots join all day to make the server look more active than it really is. Didn't realize they changed the max clients with it. And yes 18 v 18 ctf1 is the reason I don't play there. I'll only join it late at night sometimes when it's not crowded.

CPM physics for fragging just isn't my cup of tea.

5v5 is my limit for most "large" ctf maps. Anything beyond that is just noob spam except for maybe a map the size of fi_ctf1m. Maps like ctf1 are 2v2 or MAYBE 3v3 if you want to push it imo.

Part of their ongoing war with Thunder CTF, no doubt.

RA3 died cause of the rediculous updates we got from those guys in netherlands or wherever who took over the code from CRT they gave us the famous version connection errors as you never knew what version of RA3 the server was on -=
