So the design is out. And finally.. TIPS. Now I can master duel finally.

In any case jokes aside, what are your thoughts on the redesign?

I saw that elodisplay still works, but i managed to disable hook so i cant see it anymore, so cant test any more functions. So far I know that the hook server browser was breaking the new one, in which case browsers just didnt work at all. The play now function is pretty cool.

The match browser isnt bad at all also, for newer players its more easy to distinguish the matches.

So far so good. Just have to re enable QLH again. :/

Lemme know what you guys think.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, the chat seems a lil bit out of place if you ask me.
EDIT 2: It seems that the match browser cannot sort the servers according to players on the server for me :S

I play with 640x480 resolution, and when I click on the chat-box it opens and blocks many of the options to the right of the screen :o I simply can't click on them, or see them, because the chat-box is in the way. How do I minimise the chat-box once it has been opened?

Besides that I like the update. Feels like Quake Live is going somewhere now :)

jup, i play quake on 800x600 and had the same problem. but keep in mind, that they created the design in order to be displayed on currently popular monitors with 1920x1080 instead of on a gameboy.
you can minimize the chat box by clicking on the red upper task bar of it.

I can't even see the top of the chat-box I've realised. So I can't close it if I've opened it, and with it open it blocks the quit option . . . unless you know the console commands you'll have to use the task manager or something to kill the program if you want to quit, or even if you just want to close the chat-box. This is problematic for low resolution users! :o

I think the adaptation rate for "find a duel match" will dramatically fall because people joining on servers that might NOT end up in a 100% clear cut win now :)

Overall it is nice, especially the new web browser. Little things are stuff like the quit button is slightly hidden, even on the home screen. The home screens background is ugly (the grey blurred picture). Changing gametypes is again, slightly harder, since having to modify filter settings. The gameplay tips (a very good idea, especially since an influx of new users should occur) look almost stuck on to the home page. i know all petty stuf, but i think the visual update is good, web browser is a massive + for me.

As long as i can run ql (on the most maps) @ 125fps i dont see the need for an upgrade... however i only get this much fps in 800*600 resolution... and the browser is just horrible at 800*600. Why isnt it possible to have the browser switch resolution upon joining a server? Syncerror could u consider this?

Something wrong with your PC or cfg if can get 125fps only at 800x600 and lower.
Try r_enablePostProcess 0 :)

I run 800 x 600, but that is mostly so I can push my monitor to 150hz at that res :P.

And by default it's enabled and not all even high tier players know how to tune up QL.

You can work around this with extraql if you want.

Or just set a different resolution for windowed mode and for fullscreen mode then Alt+Enter to switch between them (maybe you need a vid_restart, i don't remember).

In extraQL there is actually an option (in menu under userscript, AutoExec) to load cvars 'onGameStart' and 'onGameEnd' where you could put the r_mode you desire + vid_restart to automatically switch.

Haven't tested it though.

There are 2 cvars: r_mode and r_windowedMode.
Set your r_windowedMode to -2 to use your normal desktop resolution.

You can then manually toggle with Alt+Enter, or use extraQL and the "AutoExec" script to automatically toggle between fullscreen/windowed when you start/leave a game

I believe, that extraQL should be integrated into the system, cause obv the acessibility is cool, the esr threads/twitch streams give the game a community feel. And I bet a lot off people will not even know about this. It helps in so many ways.

But in any case the update so far is awesome!
