Do a quick ebay search, I've found a few 120hz around your area.
Some of those are ASUS crap, those have terrible reviews and huge input lag. I don't think there's a REALLY cheap 120hz on the market right now, if It were I wouldn't be searching for one for like 1 damn month.

Asus VG236HE over here. It might not the best monitor ever, but im really glad i got this back when my own crt got far too dark/broken contrast. Dont think its for sale anymore, maybe second hand.

Hmm I think most should do 120hz @ 1024x768, not to mention 150-160hz @ 800x600. Just to throw you some models in case you want to do a search Sony G420 & G520 will meet those demands.
I believe there was a topic by someone who listed all CRT's that are worth buying. Trouble is finding it.

Anyway it's worth to take a look locally before you decide to splash the cash on a expensive LCD.

i can give you mine for free cos its rather doubtful ill ever play quake again

its a viewsonic p90f (about 150hz at 800x600 from what I remember, 120hz @ 1024 and 170ish at 640)

the only problem is u would have to pay for the shipping of a large heavy and fragile object all the way to usa and that makes the whole operation not worth it

I'm wondering, does enabling the monitors stroboscopic backlight(lightboost) have a negative effect on the monitors lifespan? If the backlight has to switch on and off 120 times a second you would think that the monitor is wearing off at an increased rate.

Asking this because i'm on the verge of buying the ASUS VG248QE solely for it's lightboost capability!

Samsung 2233 still going strong.I see no need to change atm and i cant stand the space a crt takes anymore. Buttcheap too i imagine.

It went out of production quite fast - it was quickly replaced with modern, "better" models :(
