Only thing I can say about the Icemat is that it has very low friction. (This was like 5 years or even longer ago, I don't know about newer versions, if there are any).

I have Icemat (made of glass)
SX (anoxided aluminium or someting, but made of metal)
ulti-mat ( some kind of metal teflon mix)
corepad magna (made of hard security glass)

I use those mainly for the consistency and I use to play cs alot, its very presise , but you migth want to lower your sens alittle bit.

i previously liked to use hard, rough pads like
thuder9
func1030
destruktor and pads like these with some new hyperglides, feels so damn good,

But i believe in the long run if you get used to one of the above, it will benefit you, since the pad remains 100% consistent, wheras plastic pads or cloth tend to take its toll after a while

How is the SX? Been hearing tons of bad reviews about it.


Happy with an Icemat at the moment. It's low friction but still has plenty of control, but I still end up going back to a Qck heavy all the time.

wears out pretty fast
and way too slick imo

faster than the icemat (easily) - not really controllable (while I used to like the icemat due to the glide)
mx500 - 518 (and related mice like mx300 310 510) skips on it
Gets inconsistent due to the coating wearing off
colder than the icemat too :P
