By all means reads tons of books

Then watch good tourney players tear your textbook style apart while u fumble to find the page that has 'how to play a flopped set ' on it before your hand timer runs out

go all-in

Play very tight untill the first break , you really dont wanna get mixed between the fish sucking out without anything but AA and KK and the occasional lucky bb - sb flop

After the break the biggest morons should be weeded out so you can play your normal style of game for a while, just dont go chasing coinflips just yet.

On the bubble is where the really good tourney players do their thing , there are a ton of people out there who care so much about their buyin that they wont call jackshit when the bubble is near, so this is your time to raise and steal a ton of pots and build up your stack, dont be afraid to bluff with nothing at this point, it'll work vs 90 % of all people.

Once you get in the money tighten up again and watch the now relieved fish throw their chips in with random hands . proceed from there with your normal style of play while making sure to spot possible steal or bluff opportunities.

Thats basically what i would advise in a general way, although i'm by no means a tournament expert but i do fairly well in very low level buyin ones which is all i play tourney wise
