ok..I have to say a few things...
unquestionable, fox is a great player, so far so good and nothing new.
But i really dislike the attitude of ic, especially the attitude of toxic, fox and (only sometimes) gopher.
Toxic just cant stand loosing, he rarely says gg after games he lost. Anybody can see, that he cant loose like a man. I dunno why that is, rumors say (and pictures of him seem to prove that), his only successes in life are dm6 games. So everytime he looses in q3, he is remembering there are no successes in life for him, and he starts to cry about that like an old woman. A gamer is not respected becos of his aimingskills, but by his behaviour too.... Try to act like a man....
Fox is just overconfident about himself.
And gopher plsssss.....every q3 player knows there is a biiig difference for my enemies when i play with mp 100 or 125, its just lol trying to joke about it, before the game against [u].

More people than fas (whoever he is?) has expressed problems with fox/ic's attitude, and not because they don't understand irony. I don't know what they get that from, I've always known that fox and ic would only get better and better and seem like nice enough guys, but I don't really know them at all, either online or IRL.

Hey guys, let's not forget unmatched -- oldtimer (hähä) SteLam is back in action and him and zyz beat all but IC1 including IC2. They looked so strong I thought they could get all the way to 2nd place ;) and they did. So very well played zyz and SteLam!

I meant better and better from a year or two ago, when both russians and americans dismissed fox's (and fazz's) wins over ... russians and americans... with "we'll beat you on LAN" and "they only play FFA style TDM" etc etc.

If someone is to beat fox's track record of proficiency in TDM, duelling, CPMA duelling, and lately CA, they'd better start now. He's placed highly in too many international competitions to be dismissed as "just blahblah". IMO if he's not already up there with all-time great as ZeRo4, prozac and lakerman, he will be.

There's no denying IC currently owns the TDM scene, the only thing I can see coming are the russians, which are doing the right thing, practising hard to be a forZe to be reckoned with. :]

afaik, he said bg to if22; even as he won t2, and also when lexer owned him on dm6. If u do something like that in a faked random game on a random public, its one thing, but he should have enough self-control to avoid things like that on a big lan tourney. If he doesnt, its just natural there are some people like me who really dislike his attitude.
Btw, reddis u should remember the biggest example for "first checking; then speaking" in the last few months with that nice "unKind" demo.

the fact that reddis replyed to me in that way (f*ckhead, sit down boy, class dismissed etc..) was unnecessary. There, my normal conversation stopped. And i was one of that people who thought about the demo postings against "unKind" that its a highly debatable thing (to say the least) to post such demos. So i was biased.

i don't know if you can remember but we two played a few times on german online servers and sometimes you won and sometimes I won. NOBODY WAS LAME. Just the way it should be. Maybe me, as a german also learned something of our past: I would never come to a countryman's defence if he is not right.

Clans that did behave badly, IMO, were QPO, aAa, Tulls and DC. I find it extremely lame to accept an invitation and then refuse to play the games. As I suspect the case were in some cases (the ones in ic#1's group) cause they did not want to get owned in public.

Like someone commented, I saw no wierd things about this game that would make any side look bad. For my part, I think that unmatched did better than I thought they would, which was nice to see.
And no, not all swedes are lame of course, I think the four guys featured in this demo played great, not showing any kind of bad sportsmanship. Maybe they did in another demo though, but if you're referring one of those, I think you should reply to the correct one.

Lamest people are in EYE actually, especially Opium. I saw a demo of his duelcup match where he just called his opponent fag and disconnected in the middle of the game and he called a pRo player nazi in this tournament. Player like that should be banned from tournaments in my opinion. Ic seem like a bunch of cool guys to be honest, they are joking pretty often and people should understand that.

There's absolutely no difference for Unmatched if we're using mp125 instead of 100 on a sv_fps 30 server, as long as we use snaps 30+. Please stop try to make us look bad, everyone with a brain know why Unmatched didnt wanna allow us to use mp125, sad but true.. but I don´t blame them really, after all I guess they just wanted to win. What's the relation netween rate and maxpackets? I thought rate and sv_fps decide how many updates the client gets from the server (download) and maxpackets the number of updates the client sends (upload)?

Just my 2 cent. You surely all know that servers have a bandwith. And maxpackets shares, along with other settings this bandwith among the players. So, if somebody uses high mp, he will get a big part of the bandwith, and the other way around. Now, if the server is on its capacity limit the player specific settings will effect other players damn sure...
Now, 4 GTV's 4 Players, 4 (?) Admins, guess what ... ?

hmm, in this demo (the dm6 one) i didnt find anything abusive or otherwise 'wankerish' from the IC side so i dont know what you are all talking about.. Strange though since IC are just about owning all the others in this cup they are the target of all the flames yet no-one even mentions the aAa-pro demo (almost 20 minutes of non-playing by aAa) and the EYE-pro demo gets only half the flames it deserved. So thats 1 french clan and 1 swedish clan.. The germans and russians must be like angels then?? wrong! At the end of this game, I think that one of the u players went away to take a pee, now that is of course not lame, since it wasn't anyone in ic (yes it is spelled in lower case)who did it and I'm a very intelligent German whiner with a totally unbiased opinion.

Nothing is known about this "fas" except that he(?) enjoys to flame people in threads on gaming forums and that he clearly has a problem with people saying "bg". My advice to him would be to consult a therapist (and something makes me feel very worried about whoever gets the job).

If you say "gg", it also means, that you appreciate your opponent's performance. With a "bg" you don't.
It's a matter of fairness and sportsmanship, to congratulate your opponent, when he plays good.
Remember, you can only play as good, as your opponent lets you play.

Personnaly, I think that if the game wasn't a gg you shouldn't say gg.

That's like saying "I feel alright" everytime someone asks you "how's it going ?".

Now if loosing == bg everytime, there's a problem. Being sad that you loose is perfectly understandable, but one should be able to say it was a good game when the game was an interesting game.

obviously you two (riske and silex) dont understand the meaning of saying "gg" after a match. its not about "That's like saying "I feel alright" everytime someone asks you "how's it going ?"". its also not about commenting how good you played. its not about YOU!
"gg" is like a handshake after a match of tennis. with saying "gg" you tell your opponent how good HE played. with "gg" you respect his skill and gameplay.
this should light up your mind now and you should read your comments again. then you should notice how bad sportsmanship it is not to say "gg". especially when you lose your opponent was obviously better than you and should deserve the little "gg". if you cant give him that you are definitivly a bad loser. and to even say "bg" is like not doing the handshake in (for example) tennis but running straight off the court. just emagine what you would think about such a person if this would happen on a tennis court. but this just shows how selfish some ppl are and that some really dont understand the meaning of sportsmanship.

first of all I want to say a little bit about the maxpackets. if I understood you right (your post here and coollers comment on c58.org) you say mp 125 doesnt affect the opponent since its above the minimum and since its a client side command (c58). as cooller says absolutely right timenudge is also a client side command and every q3 player can tell you that timenudge DOES affect your opponent. I personally have experienced that its much harder to play against mp 125 then 100 or below. I dunno why that is. I have an average adsl connection. so I can understand if they didnt want to play against mp 125 if there connections cant handle it. I also think that the q3 netcode is too complicated to understand it completely.
your second point is that you say that "after all I guess they just wanted to win". you have a weird oppinion there. as there connections cant handle mp 125 (for themselves) why should they play with mp 100 to mp 125 against you? you would have an extrem advantage since having mp=maxfps is the absolute optimum to be acheaved. every mp setting below maxfps is far away from to be 1to1 to what really happens in the game (i.e. on the server). so you want to tell us that you didnt want to win by setting mp to 125 what would have given you an advantage? plz dont. the only thing you can say is that the game was fair with that mp simply fair. i dont know why you even complain about a totally fair game (which you won).
finally I want to say that it was a great tourney although it was on the inet and conditions were not fair sometimes. also some ppl really seem to take this game far too serious (opium...).

gopher and i shared a dsl-line with 3 other people, yet we used mp125. so stop talking about "only the swedes with their 10mbit connections can use mp125".

I tell you what happens if I do mp 125. first the ping drops from 25 to like 20. I say "YES"!. but then I move and the ping increases. on the lagometer the green hill gets higher and higher untill I finally have 999.
so with your comment you actually proved (me) how good swedish connections are even if they are ordinary adsl. maybe you just underestimate "deutsche telekom".

Maxpackets is about upstream. fox has 512/512 so he can use mp 125 while I have 768/128 and cannot. Simple as that.

Hehe, I think you mis-understood what I meant, I didnt want Unmatched TO USE maxpackets 125, I wanted them to ALLOW US doing so, they can play with whatever maxpackets settings they want, aslong as they keep it at a minimum of 60 (since sv_fps was 30, mp30 will make you warp like hell when sv_fps is 30). I hope you understand this time ;)

we were 5 ppl on 512/512. when we had our matches we told the others not to browse/download etc so you can pretty much say only us two were using it. 512 divided by 2 = 256. are you telling me you have 128kbit dsl or something?

exactly and thats not only me. its perhaps 80% of the german players. deutsche telekom mainly sells 768/128 adsl. you need to have sth called qdsl to play with mp 125. you maybe understand now why everybody says german connections are so fucked up. you simply havent got the upload to play q3 with maximum settings. I hope this adsl = adsl thing is settled now. it should have become clear that swedish adsl > german adsl (dunno about france). I hope you learned sth from this I definitivly did!

If you don't want to use mp 125 then by all means feel free not to do so...
But if you disallow opponents to use mp 125 because _your_ conn can't handle it you might aswell disallow rate over 3000 because you might play against an opponent that has 33.6k.
And you shouldn't be allowed to use maxfps over 30 because your opponent might have a shitty comp. And you can't use a mouse as your opponent might be a keyboard only player etc etc...

Your opponent shouldn't be forced to use shitty settings just because you aren't as lucky, or have spent as much money as him.

You don't see a Ferrari f1 driver use only 25% of the engine's power just because Minardi only have 25% the budget compared to Ferrari.
And you don't see a German longdistance skier only practicing on rollerskates on asfalt just because an athlete from Mozambique signed up for next season.

ehhmm you really seem to have no clue massman. the standard mp setting in the tourney was 60/100. mp 125 could only be used if BOTH sides agree. here is an advice from me to you: inform yourself first (like fox should have done by simply asking stelam what dl/ul he has) before you hit the shit and you wont look like an idiot (sry) that often.

you are from belgium which would explain why you can use it. it also can be that some germans also can use it if they have a good location (means few traffic on their line). but I am sure fox would agree if I say 128kbit is teh shit.

I've always related "gg" to the game, not to the opponents performance. Same goes for "bg" of course.
If I think that my opponent played well, then I simply say "wp". I would not call anyone lame if they said "bg" after playing against me, as I would interpret it as they meant that the game was bad.

I personnaly almost always say gg everytime, but I always found weird that my opponent did when I did crush him during the whole game.

I think what you say is that the sense of gg ( Good Game ) evolved in a way it became a polite respect thing.

Personnaly, I prefer to stick to its 1st meaning, and when I finish a match I continue chatting with the guy or in lan I go and handshake the guy I played against. I always did like that and THAT is way more respecting the guy imho.

You can chat a bit with him, tell'him "nice play when I was around the corner" or "your rail aim is very good" or anything.

I understand that nowadays, you guys have no time to continue chatting after a game, nor you stand up and start searching the guy you played against in a lan.

Well let me explane one thing, GG shall only be said when u feel that they have played well and so on, IC have played alot of times against Unmatched at all kind of tourneys, so we know how they are as ppl irl, I didnt say GG becouse when we where at cpl london we told gg all the maps, and did go to they and wanted to shake hand and tell wp guys, but they didnt accept it and run away from the interview to. and about Qlan me vs Lexer i didnt told gg that game, i did go to him and told him wp man and we did go out and talked some. I dont want to say GG to someone becouse satisfy the spectators, im telling gg to the player i meet not to the specs.
If u look at all cpl games we always say gg even when we lose a game, and always shakes hand whit everyone after, we have never ignore a handshake after game. /tox

I've had the "honor" the get owned by both Gopher and Toxic in a friendly 1v1 :),, and I have to say that both are VERY nice ,, with a VERY nice attitude.
As a Swede I would surely agree if people would flame EYE's behavior since Opium (and normaly DESP) is way to imature to play in a serieous tournament.
I see no one comment on the fact that Stelam stoped to play for awhile in this demo,, is that all sportmanship? imagine a Hockey team, take a break during a match just because the score is 0-10 ,, if Esport should be more accepted by all. Players need to focus in the same way you would in a "real" sport on both skill and behavior IMO.

i like the style how ic plays, but as i watched them on gtv i saw their behaviour before the match, not only the 10 secs when the game starts. they behaved like small children and just bothered the opponent in a ironic way. ic is a professional team, so please - be professional in behaviour too.

Tbh i cant understand why [u] didnt want to let IC use mp125. The argument that T-DSL cons can't handle mp 125 (having it yourself or let the opponent use it) is just bullshit. I can only speak for myself but i feel no big differnce between 100 and 125 neither opponent nor myself. And thats why i dont get IC's statement after dm6 "imagine with mp125". What would that have changed? 10,20,30 frags more ? dont think so.. That statement (cant remember who it was tho) was completely unnecessary and was just to show off "oh look we are so good" :)

As Stelam said in an interview afterwards: "pitty that IC turned out to be so arrogant now, they used to be nice boys at the rl-events where we met 'em". So seems like fox wasn't 100% right when he said "we can joke around which each other" as obvisouly [u] felt a little bit offended (and no they are no bad losers).
