Samsung G7 would be your best bet perhaps. Since it's WHQD, 240hz and low input lag (usable for gaming) and decent response VA so you get better color accuracy and better depth in blacks. It's 32" though, so I don't know if that qualifies to your interest.

Not really at home in the curved monitors but you could check out rtings.com or blur busters forum to inquire more about these panels.

I am tired of LCD, tired of VA (the worst), tired of IPS, tired of low resolutions, tired of their absurd prices.

Repeating myself but needs to be said: monitors are the WORST, most stagnant piece of computer tech. Yes, worse than HDDs

Do you consider fullHD to be low resolution? I'm even thinking about getting an overpriced 27" fullHD monitor.... because I can run my games on fullHD fine, but for 4K I need a new 2000€+ PC. Also my eyes are shit, so bigger is better.

Tbh I Don't know if that makes any sense, or I'm just looking for a new fix for my consumerism habit.

I am short sighted and while I can't make out individual pixels on my 24 monitor unless I get to about 40cm, it's far from what I'd call "ok, we're done here" resolution wise. Extremely far off, in fact.

Have a 27 inch 144Hz panel at the office that I haven't used in a while. Can't be bothered to do the math but it looks to me that pixel density is just about equal to a 24 inch 1080 panel. It's quite an improvement for work, though.

hw unboxed reviewed some LG 27 inch 4k 144Hz (or higher, don't remember) IPS panel recently. For what appeared to be less than a 1k dollars. Not sure of actual price in euro land. I almost bought it but no HDMI 2.1 is a no no for a late 2020 buy at that price range.

I asked because with fullHD I never had issues with reduced immersion. I sit very close to my LCD TV for console gaming as well, I never felt like 'this resolution is not enough'.

I opted for Benq XL2546 24,5' instead of XL2746 27' now yesterday, because luckily there was a bargain so it was affordable, below 300€

Basically I thought the same in terms of eye to screen distance, you can simply move the monitor closer and have the same zoom as same resolution bigger screen. My minimum distance is just below 50cm though, closer feels weird.

Of course higher resolution with no detriment will always be preferred, especially in 3D games, without any artful abstraction, pixels and side effects lie aliasing and the like reduce the immersion. But me personally I don't have the use for it yet. But I also have no good point of comparison... :p

Read a bit into the subject, good monitor right now with 34 costs > 1000 euro, I would wait another year, and u prolly can get one for 500, still a lot of money, but for work desktop it is probably also benefitial

Sorry, I am not up to date regarding current models, but still I can recommend looking into tftcentral, prad and Nvidia's LDAT results for latencies.

Out of the extensive research i've done. The Pixio 34" is the best price performance monitor, with 144hz refresh and apparently a negative input lag that requires people to recalibrate their measurements.
