Yeah, I can't help but admire the patience and thought process that 2gd and his team appear to be investing into the whole thing... every aspect of the project absolutely pisses over QC from top to bottom, nothing is being rushed, which is essential.

However there's a few things that still irk me, me and my old inner anti-change senile quaker self. Like the dodge "ability" or his intentions to have these hand grenade things in every gamemode, or the whole egg thing, or the weeb-themed maps. I could maybe get used to the aesthetics as a whole, since they worked well in TF2, but that's a big maybe.

We'll see. If there's some fun gamemodes and feels like quake if I squint my eyes, I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'll just stick to my annual #tdmpickup marathon.

Not sure why people are so critical of the ever-shifting deadline and release date, other than for meme-purposes. It's not like any potential DB player doesn't already have an aFPS to play meanwhile, that they've already been playing for decades. We already saw what happened to QC being rushed, it was rushed so hard it still unfinished 2.5+ years later lol

About the changing deadlines, I think it is mostly memes at this point but also it says something about the vision of the game and communication by 2GD. I remember 2GD saying they'd run out of money by December 2018 and yet they're still going. Healso said they were close to done back in fall 2018 but that has changed. Clearly there is more money and more to do.

Moreover, the people who donated to kickstart the game probably deserved better communication (two years ago) since they donated on the pretense of the game being released back in July 2017. Some diehard fans probably don't care how long it will take but some are probably thinking they got ripped off. Given the past communication, it is not unreasonable to think the game may not get released any time soon.

I don't know if it's true but someone said 2GD's parents are really wealthy and helping to fund the game dev well beyond the Kickstarter funds. It could be in dev for the next 5 years for all we know.

I think he's aiming for Easter time 2020, would make sense with the game being based on eggs

I also would like to know how they can maintain the office building and workers for more than 5 years without delivering a product

I don't mind taking as much time as they want. I don't play any fps games right now and it is not like I need to. When it gets released, will definitely play it. I am more worried of playing something that doesn't deserve my time. If there is nothing that I really like, fair enough, I have a million other things to do. If something gets released and it is as cool as diabotical seemed in that vid, then it will be worthy to play.

I am sure, many are in the same state as me (we are not teenagers any more) or the state you mentioned.
