i really love rfactor, its like the q3 of driving simulators with all the custom content... playing on 120+ fps/hz is the best driving experience i had, totaly different feel of speed and acceleration than other games youre used to

I've just been doing searches for Rfactor 2 mods of racing series/events I'm interested in, seems that you can get everything for it!

Automobilista and Asseto Corsa are two big names ontop of the sim pile. There's also rFactor 2, some claim has the best FFB out there. And iRacing, which is good, but a bit overpriced. Have been meaning to pick up Automobilista because of the Rally-X, but I haven't touched a racing game since I picked up New Vegas on the Steam sale earlier this summer. Can't seem to put it down.

Just curious, did you get the 920 on sale? The G920/G29 are seriously overpriced for what you get. They're basically the G27 with some of the DFGT's buttons on the wheel. And no shifter is included with either. For roughly the same price or a bit more, you can usually get a much better kit.

PS. I hope I didn't come off as too much of a tough guy in that last part. I'm taking a 3 month sensitivity training seminar, so as I can better relate to other people's feelings.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll check out Asseto Corsa (50% off on steam at the mo) and Rfactor probably as they both look good. iRacing seems to be very good too but like you have said, it's expensive.

It had 25% off so I bought it and I'll probably pick up the shifter at christmas. I've already taken the rubber bung thing out of the brake pedal as I could hardly press it down!

Cheers sir. You'll most definitely get tons of fun in any of the titles I've mentioned. They all have their strengths and for the most part it comes down to what you like. But for overall feel, where someone can just jump in and drive, I'd say Asseto and PCars have an edge. And even between those two there's much to be debated haha!

Cool on the wheel. It's not bad at all mind you. Just many people were hopeful that if/when a new Logitech wheel did come out it would be quite different than the G27. But it turned out just to be a slight redesign for these latest consoles. G27 isn't compatible with the new consoles, which ticked quite a few people off.

What do you play? and which wheel do you use?

I have a G27, been looking at the t300rs, maybe this fall. I usually play RBR + NGP mod. Tried Dirt Rally, it's ok. The graphics are nice, the audio has to be the best in any racing game. If there's one area where DR stands at the top, it's definitely the audio. But the physics feel like they were left a bit unfinished. Ever since the Finland update cars sail through the air like they're attached to a rocket. It is a huge step up/away from the previous Dirt titles. Have also played R3E and rFactor a bit, but I can't get into circuit racing even in a game.

Richard Burn Rally looks nice too with the various mods, might give that a whirl!

If you are into online racing the way to go is iRacing.

That one has massive discounts around October I believe. Google.

If you want one of the most realistic games ever, then go for Grand Prix Legends, old game but hard to top for driving experience. Dirt Rally. If you have a wheel definitve must buy. The Dark Souls of racing sims! Getting plus 60fps with i3 and gtx750ti.

Also Assetto Corsa recommendation! The driving sim on PC to get right now.

I loved the Burnout series, too bad they dont make them anymore :(

inb4 you get the, "the stages in DR are 100% accurate to their real life counterparts and are works of art. Quality over quantity", response. Which is a bag of horse shit.

on top of everything i just love how in rbr you get to 100 kph and it already feels you're going quite fast.. suspensions work so nicely in that game, vanilla seems a bit too icy in most surfaces but ngp physics really improved the game.

besides the best tracks and cars are community made, as usual ;)
