The NA Quake Live Duel series is the beginning of what is hoped to be an ongoing continuous duel competition among the top contenders in the NA duel scene as we set out to find out who still has what it takes to be the best.

Just FYI: Rapha and DaHang are really focussed on Overwatch atm, and they (finally) seem to get their shit together, their team (which also includes id, canadian ctf legend) is looking quite good judging by their recent results

well NA doesn't have a weekly cup like Eu that forces everybody to play maps outside of their personal preference. so most people only play what they like here.

Why not throw in a mix of old and new for some interesting surprises?

I feel like "Concrete Palace" is a very underrated map and could use more tourney play, IMO.

Out of the years I've played Quake Live duel maps consist of Bloodrun, Toxcity, Sinister, Furious Heights, Aerowalk, Silence, Cure, and or Dismemberment.

Silence and Dismemberment being in recent cups has been beautiful. Delirium was in last nights gametribe cup too.

I know it pisses off the players when some spicy maps are in the pool, and sleepii makes a good point about NA not getting many cups, but I like playing a lot of the less common maps, those 3 in particular and its refreshing (and educational) to watch good players play on them

I agree with this list. Don't be afraid to use any of these dr0, they are all competitive even if they aren't the most popular. Personally, I prefer to see some variety in the pools instead of just the 5ish core maps that everyone plays.

CPM1A was played in vq3. It's an interesting map but there's no real aspect of control to it. 2x 50hp's and 2x YA's, it turns into 2 people flailing around without control for 10 minutes.

that is what the 30 min prior check in is for. your not completely signed up until you go to the check in on the challonge page. reduces issues in brackets for no shows. sign up will be open and active until then.
