I setlled for GZDoom anyway. Works great so far. had some trouble configuring it but now it works. It even works with Heretic!

yeah, brutal doom is fucking awesome, although in my opinion, it gets pretty far from the original doom feel, so i often go back to just playing straight doom (GL) without any bells and whistles.

Indeed. I found some other cool variations of Brutal Doom, project Brutality and Brutal Doom Johnny. I found some totaly incredible stuff, crazy campaigns to play with. It even support FUCKING coop and online. I dont get why its not more famous. I knew about Brutal Doom some years ago but it looked too much specialy with the bullets effects on the screen i saw on screnshots but after trying it, its just incredibly awesome. There is also so many addons and total conversions with full campaigns to try.

I dont understand why noone is making new FPS games with high resolution sprites as it allows so much to go on the screen without asking too much GPU power. It doesnt require so much people to make such games, i dont get why Indie devs are making so much bad games.

Currently trying ZDL as a mod manager of some sort. Not sure its the best.

Am playing Doom on PSP, there are some ports like Doom legacy which are not that bad and you still can play the PSX version :P

I never tried to play FPS games on other devices, i think i will hate it :D

Doom on android phone and d-touch as an emulator is pretty good and playable. You can even run brutal doom on it as the emulator supports 3 game engines... gzdoom included. :)

I lately play it with Zandronum + all the high texture and whatever packs I managed to find out there.
Certainly not the most authentic way, but it's close enough for me, and I enjoy the added visual quality.

I did the same, is there any other small packs i can add to my liking? All i found was maps/megawads/wads but nothing like the addons we have with doomsday engines page.

I think I'm using the doomsday engine in Zandronum. (I can't check now, sorry)

I checked for you and I use zdoom-dhtp + all the skulltag candies I could find (I even use 3d models just for fun, and I don't care if they look weird).

ODAMEX is a good choice, but lacks of ppl playing nowadays... ZANDRONUM is to modders, nobody plays vanilla doom here with it. A other good choice to play vanilla doom is ZDaemon.

Playing singleplayer on zdoom without mods + mouselook - jumping. Plays very smooth @144 hz and looks decent enough to me when scaled to full hd (in 4:3 though, but that is just my preference). When I am lazy I use a frontend.

Also tested but not satisfied for various reasons: doomretro, crispy doom, chocolate doom
