There already is one. I'm pretty sure Predathor posted one in the chat on K1llsen's stream. Or mentioned that there is such a list.
From what I've heard, it's just people who have been pointed out as obvious cheaters by people whose opinion he trusts. Again: Just piecing together memory fragments here; they don't always go back together in the right order.
I haven't seen a cheat in CA since...Last summer, maybe. And I hadnt been playing long enough to judge for myself, but everyone called it and the guy was kicked

The reason I posted was because a couple of weeks ago a buddy of mine Neuro claimed one of the players was a cheater and then posted me a link to his QLStats page. The guy had many many aliases. I had no idea he was cheating although he was a very strong player. I noticed his stats had been deactivated and realised he was probably a cheater. Two days ago I was playing with another guy 1 on 1 who had a very offensive name. I checked him out on QLStats and discovered he too was `deactivated` and also had numerous aliases. Both of these players have been added to the access.txt list. I noticed something about both of these players. They both had ofensive names, they both persistantly used the LG/SG combination ....in the warm up o_O! , and they both disconnected when challenged.

Before I played QL I played CPMA exclusivly for 10 years on various european servers the most popular being Okidoki (not my server although i had one) This server was riddled with cheaters. The server had no anti cheat policy hence practically every player was a cheater. When I moved to VQL on QL I noticed a complete change. Gone were all the cheaters... well almost . The game felt fair again. The were the odd players who raised an eyebrow but they were very few.

I hear people all the time calling out cheaters on Ql servers (my own included) but I know from experience that there are a lot of VERY highly skilled players who play this game. Its very easy to assume that because you are getting owned that the guy/gal owning you must be a cheater becase you have been playing this game for years and those shots are impossible. Think again!

My own son played BF2 (nick- Monkey_Marlow) from the age of 11 and was playing for a Pro team (Rush) 3 years later. He is now in the top 20 european CA List elo 2.3k+ He was constantly banned from pub servers when he played BF2 and now only plays on private invitation only games. So I know from experience how hard it is for people to accept that someone can be that good. So when I see a player destroying the field I never assume he/she is a cheater, I assume they are just much better than me unless I spec them and see an obvious twitch or see them aiming through walls..

Anyway enough already.. Thanks again Riot_grrl I will email predator and take it from there.

Im Not Banned But deactivated in qlstats, I stream many times and my mouse aim is always smooth. Most of the times im only Strafe aiming and fucking noobs still think I cheat. I prefer to play this game with 15-20 people instead all t2 and t3 at one Tier... L2p shitnabs or get back to cod /csgo

Barry. You'd be surprised how many ACTIVE players are cheaters. The decativated ones are small beer compared to this.

They usually stay away from CA for obvious reasons. Some happen to cheat in CTF, there's quite some of them in FFA where the waters are the murkiest. Don't know if any cheat in duel. Almost all of them are alts of known cheaters that return like a boomerang made of shit.

Cue 1997. Two guys duel (2 man FFA lol) in Q. In my fucking own house, simple lanparty. Both guys friends of mine. One wins almost flawlessly 2 times in a row. What the other one does? Today it's 19 years since that day and when we talk from time to time and we arrange a meeting of old buddies he still says: " X's invited? That fucking cheater? Fuck you man no way i won't be coming". So...
Calling someone a cheater was sometimes considered a great compliment by the elite or high skilled players. Because someone thought that what you do is not humanly possible yet you managed to pull it off = ultimate nobilitation.

Sadly there are plenty of cheaters in duel. The big difference is that duel has a lot more people actively trying to look like they arent using something.

Then you have situations like i am in myself, i have a 10ish year old vac ban on my profile. more often then not i have someone complain or even straight up harass me because of it. Quite often i have had people resort to disconnecting after a loss and coming back 5minutes later just to trounce me completely.

Its to the point where i dont want to play duel at all, it also gets harder to get a game with good players because of my ban regardless of them beating me more often then not.

So long story short.. There are quite a few idiots/cheaters roaming around in this game in any mode.

Riot_grrl pretty much nailed it.

I posted a list once on stream, but I have no intention to publish a "list of shame" with all deactivated accounts on the website.

Server owners can use the result of the /elo API call, which is used in the minqlx balancing script, to check which of the steamids on the current server are deactivated on qlstats.

I deactivate accounts based on the word of people I trust and looking at their stats and steam accounts.
There's a total of 25 deactivated accounts atm.
The vast majority is due to blatant cheating, having VAC bans, prior bans in pre-steam-QL or general offending behavior, like racist or excessive aliases.

How is racism or excessive aliasing good reasons for a deactivation? None of them affect the stats which is what your site is about.

I created the site for matchmaking, not for anyone's obsession with stats. And providing information to server owners so they can chose to keep jerks out if they want to, is part of that.
Also I think you have a wrong understanding about what a deactivation actually means. It's not preventing the player from gaining/losing ranking... that would be counter-productive to lock cheaters on a 1500 points and give them good team mates.

TL;DR: Don't be an ass, then you don't have to worry about being deactivated.

Matchmaking is based on stats.
I'm well aware that deactivated accounts can keep playing and continue to receive glicko for matchmaking reasons.
What I don't understand is why you would deactivate someone being racist or having too many aliases.
Not getting to be ranked and visible on the leaderboards because you are cheating makes alot of sense. Not getting to be ranked and visible on the leaderboards because you said something racist doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
And so far, that is the only consequence of being deactivated.
Players abusing other players should better be handled by server owners or players reporting the abusers to Steam.

Ofc you can run the site however you want but players should atleast be aware of what a deactivation means.

The reason for me asking this is because I've lately been frustrated with having to play with for me obvious cheaters that are also deactivated on qlstats but not banned on CA servers.
I was thinking that maybe server banning everyone who is deactivated on qlstats might be a good idea. But if you can get deactivated because some friend of yours arbitrarily considered something to be racist or you decided that someone had too many aliases I don't think it's a very good idea.

long story short:
If someone is a cheat suspect and has a long alias list and/or racist names in it, or someone is on the top 10 list with a racist nickname, I deactivate them.
Other than that, I really don't care much. I don't want to babysit 30+ year old QL infants.

Thats true, but its also true that cheaters commonly employ this ruse as a method to evade detection. So multiple nicks in conjunction with 'suspicious' play are reasonable indicators that something is going on....

Since every account has a unique steam ID, multiple nicknames used as a 'ruse' to evade detection are an extremely ineffective way to evade detection. You can't avoid a ban by changing your name, on servers or QLstats.

While of course many cheaters change their name quite often, so do almost all legitimate players. Its part of the game, and steam.

Saying suspicious play + multiple names = something might be going on
is like saying
suspicious play + new ish account = something might be going on

Often cheaters use new accounts, so I guess new accounts = cheats

Suspicious play ? YES, it is SUSPICIOUS, something might be going on, but multiple nicknames (or new accounts) are not indicators of cheating. Only suspicious play actually means anything.

1) Dbr-Arnie which was a clan name in Q1.. 4 years

2) CaTfOoD Q3 .. 14 years

3) BarryBumCheeks Ql 2 years..

So you see to me it seems odd that you would want to change your identity on a regular basis.. as I said I`ve had 3 nicks in 20 years ..some of these guys have 3 in a week so to me that seems 'suspisious' and not a 'normal' part of the game. It does not mean they are cheaters, but it does indicate they may have something to hide..

Firstly for me Its not about the ability to conjure up clever names on a regular basis. The reason I stick with a single identity is so that other players can easily identify me at a glance. Period. They dont have to wonder who I might be. Conversely I like to know who I am playing with especially if I`m playing with the same people for years. Call me old fashioned but I like consistency and continuity.
Perhaps some people get some form of personal amusement from the novelty of new personas, I simply don't know as such a trivial amendment would go right over my head but then again as they say small things...

Secondly I`m well aware of the steam ID`s and their unique identifier function but they are better suited to machines than people.
When people connect or we look on the scoreboard we see their nicks not their steam ID. This is the handle we use to identify them.
Sure you can use the players command (I have it bound) to find more detail but why should you have to trawl through a list of unfriendly numbers when you can simply look at the scoreboard and see Oh its Rhatboy... time to camp :-)

Lastly just because we can doesn't necessarily mean we should

Pretty easy way to get info to ban someone, after which the problem won't happen on that server again so no need to check nicknames.

Well, for starters, one of the disadvantages of glicko over elo is that glicko treats team games as free for all matchups, meaning that performance relative to the rest of the players in the game is more important than actually winning the game. Not that it matters to be since I don't play modes for subhumans much less take them seriously but it's a thing to consider for those who do.

The Elo rating system is a calculation of the relative skill levels of players in 1v1 games, mostly chess. Even back in a day, it was applicable to Duel mode only. CA rating was called Elo by everyone but the formula was different. Thats why any rating for anything apart 1v1 went complete bananas.

Glicko originates from Elo in some ways = Duel mode only.

You were on the ban list. Clearly it was a mistake. Sometimes the admin menu in QLive is buggy and selects incorrrect players when trying to kick someone else. Sorry about that. This has now been fixed. You should have no problem connecting now. Any more problems then let me know.

nah, that's just a log in error. when you log in a server and you get the message USER BANNED, just esc and try again - it works.

No it was'nt... he was on the ban list (access.txt). I removed him last night.

With the player_info minqlx plugin, a message can be shown when a player that has a deactivated qlstats account joins the server, or the !info command is called.
(Example: !info somecheater --> "SERVER WARNING: somecheater has been deactivated on qlstats")

With the latest version of the plugin, server owners now have the option to automatically ban players with a deactivated account, by settings the following cvar in their server.cfg's:
set qlx_pinfo_ban_deactivated "1"
