Not even one!?

I saw a frag movie maybe a year ago and installed, but I couldn't find any players.

I think the only people left playing are Scandinavian players, because over the years I only remember seeing people play on the Pelitutka servers (Finnish), and most of those players on there have ping at 30ms or lower. Looking at these stats, I appear to be correct: http://0302.fi/z0rbot/stats/

If you understand Finnish, this looks like a good website: http://www.aq2suomi.com/. Any other place for discussion for AQ2 looks dead to me.

Yeah, I dont ping very well to europe, and the only USA server thats populated has bots.

Ive played it and had fun with it, although I just ended up going back to playing quake. It reminded me of all those counter-strike 1.6 pubs that are still alive today.

There is a server or two in Finland which is/are always full at night, check them out.

Never heard of it before but it looks pretty cool, any other good mods of games to play much like this?

Urban terror is a similar game, in fact closest game there is to aq2

The main thing I remember from aq2 was limited weapons per map - one of each, drops on death and stays at location. Don't recall rounds or spawning with guns at all, but maybe that was added after I played.

You played deathmatch only, most popular mode of AQ2 is teamplay, which is the one showcased in the video!

I played the hell out of aq2 in 98.

Been wanting to play some plain Q2 dm these days, and all I can see with people and within reasonable pings are... AQ2 servers (and one lithium ffa, which is another kind of fun).
I had a bit of fun with that back then (including wacky jumps on cliff or something), but it's not quite what I'm after right now... Grrr :p
