I actually love me some intervention/osp6, but I am quite surprised that dm20 was left out again. At least dm6 isn't on the list? =)

I dont really understand this new 6 player squad limit.

Be realistic: Most TDM players are old and have real life obligations. Its very hard for teams to play on the scheduled days. By having only 2 subs, it gets even harder. I predict even more forfeits/no-shows than usual :(

I recommend increasing the squad limit to 8 players ! Think of football, or other team sports. They usually have squad sizes of around 30 players, even tho they only ever field 11.

Allstarteams(nEu a few seasons ago?), picking up most good players, creates no competition. 6 is more than enough imo.

Thats a rare case, and wasn't it mostly buddies in that team? I doubt they would even consider playing in other teams.

And anyway, do you really think its worth destroying current rosters in order to make it more pseudo-competetive? It might be enough for the div1 teams who have a stable core since years, but most div2 teams are pretty new and have trouble finding that kind of core.

Im still not convinced, because I doubt these people would play with other teams, but you probably have better insight. Anyway, it would be very bad to apply this rule to div2 and a potential div3

I'm not entirely sure about my arguments here either, I've just seen "all-star teams" smacked filled with all the good players too many times in too many games :) maybe 6 is too low in a 4 player game, I don't know. We didn't need more than 5 in l0wfly atleast.

IMO allstar teams arent always the best way to go. I'd choose a team consisting of buddies over any big-named allstar team any day.

Usually the allstar teams collapse after one season anyway.

Even with an active team they snatched krysa as soon as he became teamless, just because why not. That's what you want to prevent.

6 players limit is dumb. Just like mattered_ said, this will make even more noshows, also some teams owners (like me for example) will have to remove players from team. Why? We all are here to have fun, maybe some teams like 102 actually care about prize and play for money that's why they have one team and from time to time switch two players (421-cas) but others are just want to play on higher level than pickup or public tdm imo. At the moment i have 7 players including me and that's not much. People have job and other things to do so not everyone are able to play on selected day. In previous season everyone had a chance to give a try in more competitive tdm and now i will have to remove 1 team member and be scared if others will actually be able to show on game cause i have less players. This is a big punch in the face for div2/div3 teams. I can't consent in that cause there is no reasonable point for making this. I beg you dear admins, please reconsider this, ask more teams and wait to hear what they say cause in the end you are doing it all for them.

And don't get me wrong, big love for what you are doing for us, quake live community but from experience you should know that adding stupid restrictions is not a good way, look what ql devs did...

You remember wrong. 102 put in cas for Cooller (not fortune), when the former was registered on another team that was already eliminated (IIRC). So it wasn't a matter of player limit, but playing for 2 teams. But I'm not strongly against that, unlike CB-schooled tards.

On the other hand, I've played several HoQ+CB seasons (started in div 5, ended up in div 3 called div 2) while having "a job and other things" and it wasn't a problem to schedule stuff weeks in advance. But when something sudden happened, we had worse results using the "star players" from our 6 (coincidence) player lineup compared to the 4 who were playing daily practice.

So either you're saying people with jobs can't schedule one free evening weekly (absolute BS), or perhaps deep down you feel that there should be no notion of a "lineup" that you register before season (which makes no sense at all, it's an artifact of CB and it's moronic administration). Think about it.

Its not about having actual jobs, its about the priorities one has in his life. And for many quakers (especially those dwelling in div3/2) Quake isnt high up on the list anymore. A very tight squad size that only allows for 2 substitutes makes it unlikely that matches will be ever played out. Believe me, I've seen countless seasons that verify my point.

Also don't forget how sitto added Krysa for the semi-final vs l0wfly when Krysa had already been knocked out in team CZE, good job doz3r. This is the reason why there need to be clear rules(which there were btw), that just has to be followed.


Other than that, go TDM, I'm hoping this season will succeed and if I'm allowed and capable to I'll stream some games.

Whats wrong with Tornado and ospdm6? And how dm20 is superior than these two maps? :)

1. I haven't said osp6 was bad. If you ask me, it's very good but it hasn't caught on in QL.
2. Tornado is utter crap.
3. For whatever reason the QL community prefers dm20 to both of those.

I think it's a good idé. I mean, u'll get more teams, u want have that one team that have like a 10000000players, and if u get a team with 6 players all of them would try to bee there on game days cuz u dont have more ppl in ur team then just 6... why form a team with 6 players that isent sure if they can play all the games? there for ull have more teams that are more "serius" i think.

However, when you are 7 players in a squad like pacmen/oxide, it's not easy to split in 2 teams coz u need at least 5-6 in a clan for subs.

So that means we gota recruit 3 or 4 players :D
