Fjörukráin, viking hotel/recreated village, could be interesting for a day trip.
I was told to visit Bæjarins Beztu, which is apparently the most popular street food vendor in Reykjavik, but it's basically just a hot dog vendor, so might be worth avoiding.
If you go down the docks there's a bunch of cool cafes and stuff, i'd recommend the lobster soup at saegreiffin, they also weirdly have liquorice flavoured ice cream which is apparently a speciality.
The Hallgrimskirkja near Eiriksgata is probably also worth a visit. Jakabol too if you're into weights :>

I mainly went to see the northern lights though, so my advice probably sucks and i'm by no means claiming to be an expert.

there are tours and adventures n shit for biking, most will be lame, so freeride and go anywhere you want, why its called freeride, with bikes that can do 20 feet drops, and 30 gears to do all hills

Still working all over the country, but for a new employer and more $$$, moved in with a girl for a few years but it didnt work out so I have more free time : )

What month are you going?

If you want to go off the main tourist routes (which basically consist of one motorway going along the entire coast plus a few extra streets) by yourself, it depends much on the weather.

As an example, I wanted to go to Þórsmörk (recommend as one of the most beautiful places by multiple Icelanders) in mid June. It turned out that this is still spring in Iceland so the easy-to-travel road (any 4x4 will do) was closed because of thawing. You could only get there on a different more difficult road with a huge 4x4, a small to medium sized 4x4 wasn't fit for all the river crossing.

Other than that failure, I saw a lot of places on the tourist routes that an Icelander had recommended to me. Most of them were amazing. I can give you the names and my experience of them when I find the time.
