Hi there this is ZomBiE, i played Quake 2 CTF for Immortal Coil an Sleepless Psychos from 1998-2001.
I collect Q2ctf demos, i have around 12 gigs worth from the old OGL HPB/LPB ladders an league.
I'm in the process of ripping these demos to video an posting them on youtube @ https://www.youtube.com/user/thepat1ent1
If anyone has any demos from that era of Q2ctf that you would like to see posted drop me a line here, or on the ACME CTF forums here http://www.acmectf.com/forum/index.php?action=forum

PS I lost a big chunk of demos back in 2000, which included a lot of the Elite Strike demo archive. I would give my left nut to get those demos back. If you can help out I'd love to hear from you. Sorry EU players I have no clanbase demos of any kind.

Nice demos, brings back a lot of memories, although I thought the hook was faster than this. I think it was independant from the weapon in OSP.

I recall CTF lans in the late 90s and I actually went to ACME lan (but to play TDM/DUEL) as well :). Edit: Not sure if this website is related to that old Swedish lan.

I just wanted to say that I have never seen higher teamplay skill in any FPS game than old school Q2CTF teams. The level of teamplay and preparations for these games was insane. I personally was not that into CTF for various reasons but those players will always have my respect :)

My first multiplayer experience with Quake 2 was somewhere around in august 98. I actually played HLDM prior to that for a few months until discovering Quake.

Preferrably one with U-17 playing ;)

I think I have plenty of oldschool Q2 CTF demos (and TDM & DUEL demos as well) stored somewhere safe (so safe I'm not sure where). If I recall, the CTF demos are mostly some nations league material (.fi vs .se and that sort) and duel demos are with players like Shub, Blue, Makaveli, Doomhammer, etc. TDM demos I believe are mostly MM (mementomori), 7th, Clan 9 etc. I can try to find those if someone's interested.

Shame you lost those ES demos. I still remember doing conference calls with vynn and sleestak over a land line because doing any kind of VoIP was a fantasy back then. I wonder if slee is still a Rush superfan.

A friend gave me his demo collection, something like 14Gb, only ctf. A lot of Clanbase. He was a CB admin for a while and sort of collected demos. What to do with them? Would be nice to share them...

I have about half of clanbase ctf. Nearly all of non-european ctf I got from players like Zombie.

mdv and I spoke and I'm going to look into getting q2 support added into the renderer. We'll see what can be done - q2 support has long been something we've all wanted.

Quake 2 support has been added into renderer; any feedback would be appreciated. I haven't tweaked the hud or graphics much, but those are relatively easy to do.
