I'm happy to officially announce the 4th Fatal1ty annual Pre-Quakecon 2015 Tournament.

This year prize pool is $500 in cash for Duel & CTF

Nice. Thanks for supporting quake. It's a shame we can't see some tdm from the NA teams but whatever, probably 3 teams would play that. Watching ctf and figuring out the power rankings in Murica is fun enough.
And of course the mappools make no sense whatsoever :D

Fatal1ty coming back is a lose lose for him. He wouldn't stand a chance against any heavy aimers like cypher, evil or tox. He has great rockets and game sense but that won't be enough to compete on the highest level. His LG and to a lesser extent his RG isn't top level. I'm not sure he has the mentality for it either. Seeing him get worked up over poor FFA performances is not something you'd expect of a champion. I'd love to be wrong but I don't think I am.

Props for the troll attempt, I see some people fell for it :P

However, Fatal1ty and I did not host a pre-quakecon tourny this year. I was finishing my masters program and Fatal1ty was busy as well.

If we did host it again, it would have been posted weeks ago with the official Quakecon map pool/game modes, plus the banner would have been WAY better! ;)

Hope this clears things up, GL to everyone competing at QCON, and hopefully NA still got some good prep in.

While all cash is appreciated, I feel like this low amount is so cheap it's actually embarrassing. The guy has his own hardware producing firm, and even though it probably doesn�t do too well compared to others, $500 is pennies to him. $150 for first place is laughable.

What's actually embarrassing is the size of the Quakecon prize pool.

The current 40k should be for just for the top 3 of each event ... TDM, CTF, duel ... minimum and at least top 8 should win prize money.

Intel is the sponsor? this crummy amount of moneys is all that Intel and id and whoever can put up all together? That is just laughable. Intels profits are in the tens of billions per year.

The point is, that what's pennies for Fatal1ty is actually a significant sum of money, whereas my half a dollar does nothing. Yeah sure, if a whole crowd, as you mention, donates half a dollar it�s an entire different thing, but that requires some sort of effort from an organizer before hand.
