Admins are only in charge of putting the major news posts on the front page, and that only in the case the post is written in a decent way in first place. The responsibility of writing them well is of whoever writes each news post; not of the admins. Quite obvious, isn't it. Still, gstructor managed to insult the admins (for his own flaws) and even then xou went the extra mile to fix gstructor's post.

I know I'm going to receive some hate from the huehuehue speaking community, but etjx is not the best Chilean player by any accounts whatsoever. As you can read in the announcement, the source of that claim came from the very team, much like how some years ago bichito got himself into the masters tournament of quakecon (then he obviously got wrecked by everyone).

The context is that, in the third world, duel is at best 1% of the community and is quite isolated from the other game types. People here play lots of lolca and of ctf (no tdm whatsoever), all the while a mere handful of people play duel. The said handful of duelers tend to only play duel, and as such their level dramatically drops at other gametypes, etjx included*. Based on that circumstance, I wouldn't put him even in the top 20 players of Chile alone for a Tri-Masters tournament, so the "best player from Chile" claim is complete bullshit. Actually yesterday I was told that he was being mocked at in a server for stating that, lol.

Also it has to be said that even in the case someone could consider etjx as the best dueler of Chile (which is doubtful), such claim doesn't matter at all anyway considering that when it comes to duel Brazil is leaps and bounds above the other South American countries. Really, flesh1/nhd wins everything and beats everyone with ease, so being the best dueler in Chile is as much of an achievement as being the best player of your own house, or like comparing the best from Turkey with the best from Russia. The same applies to the Argentinian level, as last year you all saw the clearly best Argentinian dueler (doomsday) get wrecked by ins and by other people of less than 2000 elo in Europe.

edit: Same with CTF too, as CTF in South America is completely dominated by Chile, to the point my own team (composed of LoL players) never got capped once by any of doomsday's teams across the years, lol. The noteworthy Chilean CTF specialist to mention is diebaso, an attacker who played defrag extensively.

To end the rant on a positive note, it seems like the one who I consider to be the best Chilean and overall best South American player all around is going to attend quakecon this year, with another team. That player is "Mesita", best described as a player with obscene accuracies that has decades of experience. He is the one who is going to rape them all Kappa


* From what I recall the only Chilean duel-focused player who is good all around is vodkax. I think he is attending with Mesita's team and obviously he is going to be their duel representative, so the Chilean-only team (with Mesita and vodka) is the one to look forward to watching, instead of his overhyped Chilean-Argentinian-Colombian team. Personally I would have preferred Mesita to play duel instead, since he should be more entertaining to watch than vodka :P

i dont say im the best player from my country, its very funny :D, i was the best on duel about 3-4 years ago. but now im very inactive , im work so far from my city and i cant play much, but the team have confidence we can do it well specially on ctf. We are training very hard, and have much experience on ctf in past years with GHS the best team from the history in southamerica CTF.

I saw an advertisement for a dumb horror movie called Unfriended. It advertised itself as "the most talked about horror movie in years." Of course that's not true, they're advertising a product is all. The same thing happened here with Etjx. It is maybe a lie to say that Etjx is the best Chilean player, but calling it a lie (or just "lies" to imply that they're just generally dishonest because you're a troll) misrepresents them.

Here’s a list of players who have so far begged for money: Fazz, Spart1e, noctis, dem0n, clawz, strenx, silencep, cypher, cooller, latrommi, pavel, 421, doomsd4y, c0d47, etjx, and ICrazyI. You can’t trash four of these people for “begging for money” without trashing all of them, so I’m guessing there’s some qualifier on ”begging for money” which is the actual problem you have with them. Maybe you don’t think they’ll do well, so you don’t see a point in donating.

Sorry for not spending every day on ESR, lol. Unlike others here, I prefer to work instead of resorting to begging to pay for my own vacations, so that shifts focus away from the interwebz. Also it’s not like anything has happened in the quake scene as of late.

It (sort of) matters because this very year way better players than them are attending, such as vodka and mesita, who I think deserve the recognition and the money if they were to ask for it. Also I feel sort of ashamed that these low skilled people say they are representing the local scene, by saying to the world that they are the best. Really, in actuality these guys are four CMSS’, lack of skill and intelligence included, and you all aren’t realizing that.

Since it came to this, now I’ll provide actual info for you all to judge by yourselves if it’s worthwhile for you to donate your money to this “team” or not, instead of you basing that on assumptions, claims and walls of texts.
- CTF. While they do play CTF and South America is sort of known for that, it has to be said this team in particular beyond sucks at team modes. They won’t score a single cap at the tournament, just like they usually don’t in their own region.

- Duel: Last year at Quakecon their very best dueler couldn’t beat a single non-competitive dueler, thus losing all his matches in laughable fashion. And again, it’s a shame that these guys promote themselves as legends and as the best here, when players such as flesh1 are in a whole different category at their best/only gametype, more so in the game as a whole.

- TDM: Just like in NA, in that sub-continent no one plays TDM, at all, including him and his teammates. They will certainly lose all their matches by mercy limit. Of course many other teams of the region would do much better, as these guys even completely suck in lolca, but anyway.

As an offtopic, I think I have to expand a bit on the sort of racist remarks of mine when it comes to fellow South Americans sporadically coming to ESR. The vast majority of people here speak English as their second language and we all have different backgrounds. However, you don’t see ESR filled with Polish/Russian/etc. speak, nor drama like this, or lies to beg for money (no this is not just "hyped"), or personal insults or a complete lack of understanding of English. That only happens here in threads involving South Americans, whether I post or not. Sorry but it’s true and for some reason here that is always, always the case with them and with them only (exception being gstructor).

Anyway, think whatever you want. The footage is there (and there's tons more), their claims are on these thread (that they use to ask for money) and I have nothing else to add. Have fun.
