if your isp is garbage to begin with or you play on wifi and have 3 walls between your pc and the access point it simply cannot help.

i think i read about something like this for qw i think tho, somehow finds you the most optimal route between the client and the server (i have no idea if its thru proxies) so ye it can help a little bit if for some reason you wish to play your game on a different region

If the routing between you and whatever you're trying to reach is screwed up, then it could help. Otherwise it will just make things worse.

I know at least one person that uses it successfully. When I tried, my net just cut out.

I used to use it when my routing to IL servers was really bad (100+ ping). I'd use their nearest server which was about 15ms away and get about 45ms ping to the server from it. 60 ping beats 100+. If your situation is not like this and you get normal ping already then it will only add delay. It only helps if specifically your routing is bad.

that being said vpn's can be great for some and useless for others. I recommend that anyone who wants to check their options out to try one vpn that allows a free trial period (example: incloak) to see how they a vpn will help them.

I used that service when the QL routing was fucked up in the earlier 2013..

It decreased my ping from 75ms - 55/50ms. So in my point of view it helped.

Why is it a scam? You can test it before you give them any money.

I don't see how they could fake ping times, and If your ping is not lower and your connect doesn't feel better, then they have nothing to sell you. It's that simple.

It's a VPN tunnel, you connect to a VPN server that then connects to your destination. If you ping well to this initial server, there's a reasonable likelihood that the ping from there to your destination will be better, resulting in an overall lower ping time.

It's the only way to change your routing short of getting a different ISP.

The reviews I linked to made me very skeptical. They are vague about how they work. (GPN?) I imagine it's hard to fake ping, but then again they are installing software on your computer, don't see it as impossible either.

In any case it seems to work for some people, so I guess it just depends on your location and where you wanna go.
