NA players are welcome to play but games vs European players must be played on EU servers, in the event of two NA players meeting in the bracket then they can play wherever they like.

No, I'm limiting the cup to 20 players. There will undoubtedly be no-shows or latecomers or downright bitches though so if you sign up you still might be able to play.

Whoever named the tourney does a disservice to the players. I watched and the play was definitely not 'low skill'. I'm low skill and could not take a frag off most of the competitors. Might I suggest 'journeyman' or mid-skill for short?

In the grand scheme of things, 1500 Elo is definitely low-skill. 15xx-17xx I would say is mid-skill, but then again Elo isn't the perfect indicator of skill.

You are partly right, 1500 is the high-end of low-skill. That is why I named this tourney 'low-skill' and not 'newbie' as I have in previous tourneys where the cap was closer to 1300-1400.

If you look at the player's Elo range you will see there are players in there at 1100 and players who are just shy of 1500.

If you don't like the name, rules or requirements of the tournament then no one is forcing you to play, there are others who are perfectly content with them and are willing to play.

And try to remember, this is just a silly cup for fun. There are no prizes or anything at stake. I even made it a swiss format so that everyone gets to play the same amount of games and no one is eliminated after losing one or two. There is also some matchmaking in swiss based on wins and losses, so in the final round the two players with the most wins will face each other as will the two players with the most losses.

< 1350 = low
1350-1500 = low-mid
1500-1700 = mid
1700-1900 = high-mid
1900+ = high

dude, <1500 is pretty low skilled, but if you are around 1450-1500 you probably will have a chance against 1600 or even 1700 elo players.

however, i'm 1400 elo and on my best maps i can bring it close against 1500-1700 elo players.
