We are continuing our tradition of running "One Map Cups" for the new map from our main league season (#23), this time i am talking about Dismemberment, also known as hub3tourney1.
On one hand, this map is not new, we could see it in "ancient" tourneys when fatal1ty and polosat1y ruled the quake cups, but recently we couldn't see it so often. For example, at QL IEM 5 (VOD cooller vs rapha), FACEIT QL Legend Cup (2012, av3k - winner). At 125 FPS League this map was only one time before - at Sep'2013 League (winner - cypher).

So,24 March 13:00 CDT One Map Cup - Dismemberment, Double Elimination, all matches BO1, prizepool is 300 USD now, if someone can add some money to the prizepool - would be cool.

Not an interesting layout, in my opinion. Too flat and spread out. Doesnt create many interesting fights or situations like other maps.

generally speaking, yes, the format ought to promote new maps. but we dont have any(
deliruim and mcsarges have had their one map cup already and dismemberment has been really underplayed during all these years.

Hmm, was there any feedback after the McSarge's cup (except that the fps rate is shit)? I haven't heard anything but haven't seen the map played again either.

Yea i put 50 in the box and was told i wasn't going to pay any fees, then ended with a receipt saying i had paid 51...

February's N.A. Duel Cup had Dismemberment in the pool. I really enjoyed the two games we got to cast from this map(1, 2). Pick pick makes for some entertaining matches indeed, and a one-map cup will hopefully show the "haters" that the map has a lot of strategic value. It was mentioned earlier that the layout makes for a boring map to spectate. While we aren't going to see the same action as a 30:20 aerowalk the joy of dismemberment is very similar to that of a tight ztn or dm13 game.

That's a lot of money for a one map cup, especially on that map.
Maybe you could save some and make like 2 proper Sunday cups like old time (faceit).

What's boring in watching high-level quake on a great map again and again? To me it even has an additional value, seeing how players adapt their playstyles against each over, playing the same map real different every time.

Its like Karpov played tons of Meran defence in a match against Korchnoi or Kasparov played shitloads of Berlin vs Kramnik. Same players. Same map (debut). So what?

Each game is like no other if its played on a real high level.
