I'm also excited for Arms of Telos which is really good fun and I'm hoping that Doom 4 doesnt end up being shit

I just don't see myself playing any of those games for MP. Only one I will even try for MP is UT4. Call me closed minded, but history counts against them. In 15 years I am still on the Quake train with no stop in sight.

I really hope Id get's there shit together and makes a great multiplatyer arena fps for the new Doom game.

This is my hope too. If Doom has good fun multiplayer then it will fufill my every desire.

I really want an AFPS game with a doom like aesthetic and a brand name big enough to get loads of people playing it.

But I'm really worried it will be a consolised mess of scripted melee animations, boring movement and a 30fps cap.

60fps lock won't be that great either :)

I've been really enjoying Reflex for a couple of months now.

I dl'ed the UT4 alpha yesterday, and had a few fun TDM games in it.

A lot of the rest is still vaporware essentially, innit?

I don't understand who counts on doom 4 mp (when it'll be out) to be any good, in a quaker sense.
Did you forget doom's typical arsenal? It's based on pistols, shotguns, chainguns and some plasma guns.

The main part of it is hitscan, and the movement and the rest of the gameplay cannot possibly be suited for a good mp game, being designed around horror single player campaign. It'll probably even have regenerating health.

Doom 4 multiplayer won't be conceptually different from Doom 3 multiplayer.

engine's probably going to have a hard 60fps cap also.

I hope we will be able to see things unlike in DooM 3.
