Everyone has connection issues to different servers (stuck on "awaiting gamestate" or "awaiting authentication" forever), but that happens on servers of different gametypes, not selective to one of them.

That makes me think you're just banned. If server owner uses /kickban, you will actually stay banned until next map restart.

People who migrated to Steam have the same issues we do, plus additional issues when Steam chokes :)

There's an issue where the console says "invalid in game nickname" then the enemy models all force to a brown sarge model which can't be changed, then the players get kicked. We've been dealing with this issue in Australia since the steam release, I wonder if ID even knows about it? lol

I think the real question is, do they even care?

It also changes your rail colour back to red, and it out-dates the Steam release by at least a year.

storm, I had that issue for a long time. I've concluded it seems to occur in duel when the winner AND the loser both drop when you and another are in queue.

Here is what happens. For spec mode to work from either viewpoint, they wrote a little hacky bit of flipping model/character values: Disable/Ignore model/character information, then assign those values to reference values viewpoint_character, viewpoint_enemy. These values can then be flipped when you transition views in spec and there is no interference with the enemy/team system because it is disabled and the cvars have no relation. Real nice and simple...except in the case above where you are stuck in the 'ignore models' case because of a dual/duel drop. You are not a spec though and your reference values likely do not exist anymore on the map change, and they aren't being called...because again you are not a spec. The glitch is that your models are stuck on ignore, which is the first step in making the spec system work. It seems easily correctable.

yeah its regardless of server owner, even does it if i started the server. sometimes it does it so regularly that i'll go play clan arena and not even worry about duel. very frustrating, especially when your playing half decent and about to win a game. i've been told that renaming fixes the problem, however it hasn't worked for me at all.
