if you can somehow shove the old lens in to the new on ( shouldn't be too hard ), then you can get that dpi on the 800 step, but I'm not sure how using the old lens on the 3310 will affect the tracking.

+111, on my kanas it's such a great feature, just edit the settings update firmware then uninstall and NEVER worry about it again.

Some settings can be changed on Zowie mice, including the hz. There should be a combo of buttons to press while plugging it in to change between 1000 and 500hz for example.

other companies release software and allow you store settings onboard and uninstall said software. So what zowie are doing is not really an advantage, since 3310 allows you to adjust LOD too.

at 1khz polling, each dpi step gives me roughly same failure speed at about 5m/s.

Original ec2 had a noticeable amount, more than 3-5 ms of your ec2-a. Guess zowie silently fixed their button lag with this new line of mice.

i hope this is the case. i did just receive another ec1 cl back after rma'ing my original one. maybe the coating will stay on for more than a month or 2 now, but it still has the flawed sensor lens placement that scoops up dust, eventually messing with the mouses sensitivity. who knows if the newer batches of cooller versions have been fixed too, but i dont expect it to ;_;

tested my fk against 302 as well. 302 about 15-21ms faster. fk against the ec2-a, ec2-a faster again by about the same margin. so I guess zowie fixed their button lag problem with these mice.

What math? There's so many variables here. The 302 is extremely easy to press, even easier if the tip of the mouse is depressed. The EC2 has plenty of travel distance before actuating. These programs are stupid is what I am getting at.

If you want to come to this conclusion, you have to remove the shells of the EC2 and another mouse (control), install omrons of equal actuation force and use the same method of using this program to clash the two exposed switches.

i see two big variables that may vary mouse to mouse. force required to actuate the switch, and travel distance to actuation. i'm a big strong man, so i can actually apply a force much greater than the force required to actuate. to do this, you may imagine that i put a mouse to a hand and slam them together. i estimate that i do this at roughly 1m/s. the travel distance will be something like 1 mm. 1mm/1m/s = 1ms. so you see it actually doesn't matter if one is physically being actuated first and the other one (because it's stiffer) is being actuated because it's being pushed against the shell. the delay is again about 1ms. not 10ms-20ms like we've come to know with older zowie mice. so no i don't have to take apart my mouse to test whether it has 10-20ms click latency. if you want less than a ms then yes let's get fancy, but pay me first.

Why don't you test it against the eVo CL then? You can't make that conclusion based on comparisons against a g302 and an FK. I don't have to tell you why that isn't a proper scientific test.

i've answered my question of whether or not this new zowie has 10-20+ms of click latency relative to other mice. if you're not satisfied, do another test yourself or give me a reason why what I am doing is not answering that question.

Really? Ok. Why it isn't scientific. Travel distance is not controlled for. Actuation force is not controlled for. Different location of switch actuation force leaving flex of shell to regulate time/pressure of switch actuation. Estimate of force applied (apparently you're a robot and can estimate how fast you move the mice and also know exact travel distance when EC mice are known to have a lot). That's why a comparison with the CL would produce more accurate results, which you do have possession of. I would do it, but Zowie EC1-A aren't available in Australia yet. In my experience, my FK1 and my regular FK with omron switches vary in response quite a bit (zowie omron beats it by about 6ms) which is why these tests are not exactly strong in my POV.

point is those uncontrolled things account for a few ms of systematic error, i'm looking for latency an order of magnitude larger. so no, i don't think i have to build a robot to test the click latency to reach my current conclusion.

Final note: +-10ms is the silliest discussion I have ever heard in my life. I guess it might matter in MOBAs or something where you literally win by furiously spamming mouse-clicks and it's possible you can achieve more 'clicks' with something else. I dunno that anyone is looking at a Zowie mouse and considering it as a mouse for them. It doesn't have enough buttons or garish LEDs on it...

and yet for the reason which son! perfectly explained it is pretty accurate way to measure relative latency. Just make sure to perform at least 30 bumps. With 1000FPS camera you can easily verify button press time.

I jus got my EC1-A in the mail today and I immediately ran it against an FK1 and an Aurora in the Bloody click test.

All tests performed at 1000Hz. Aurora is baseline:

Aurora: +0ms
EC1-A: +4ms
FK1: +12ms

That's a consistent 8ms less than the FK1. I don't have any previous incarnations of the EC series to test it against.

yep. bought my mice from zowie's shop directly in denmark. rma'd my ec1 evo cl roughly 3 weeks ago and got a new one back today. i wasnt too happy i had to send my original ec1 back to zowie portugal... but hopefully this new one i received will have fewer issues.

Have anyone else bought it? Any complaints or other issues that I sloud know about, does the coating wear off at all? I've wanted to get EC2 eVo for a long time for primarly it's shape and size, so I hope that 3310 is great sensor too.

Got EC2A. It's a bit smaller than I expected.
If you are used to a deathadder or an IE 3.0 or any other bigger mouse, get the EC1

Compared to the FK 2013 (1st generation):
Mousewheel has been improved a lot
Lift off seems a tad higher
Weight distribution is a lot better (I find it easier to move even tho it's heavier)
Buttons are easier to press (but still a bit harder than most modern mice)
Button delay is/feels lower (no way to test it properly, just fooling around with humanbenchmark. (From the mice I have here it's about g302 > G1 > EC2A >= wmo > cm spawn 1st gen > FK > Kana V2 where it starts to be noticeable with the FK)
Side buttons lack resistance (but who cares ?)
I don't like the fact that that you can't disable the mwheel led which is really bright (also pink on 800 dpi looks gay, but IDC i use 400)

I was still using it but with new ESEA update (which is a league for couple of games including CSGO) I cannot use WMO anymore, because they do not allow unsigned drivers (500hz WMO RIP)

Just an FYI as I don't see it mentioned anywhere, the LOD is adjustable on these mice with combination of button presses as you plug the device in...

Three choices:

Uber low - makes regular 1.5-1.8mm LOD on plastic pads

Default - 1.5-1.8mm for cloth pads

'original' LOD - makes slightly higher LOD on cloth and can track on random surfaces like white paper with this setting, in my experience on cloth it's barely any higher than the default, yet if you're switching from g400 for example it can feel more comfortable

Uber low - mouse buttons 4+2

Default - mouse buttons 4+1

'original' LOD - mouse buttons 4+2+1

Please note that button 4 is the rear most side button, furthest from cable end ( the manual has them annotated incorrectly)

I can confirm that buttons on my ec2-a are way better than earlier zowies, far more like omrons, also i notice no button lag.

What is the difference between 'Original' LOD and Default? If I understand correctly, there's 3 stages of LOD: Lower, Higher, & Default. I'm coming from a Deathadder 2013 using the EC1-A now (not quite sure I'll stick with it yet), and it feels a lot slower for some reason, and weird tracking wise.

After using the EC1-A for the past 2~ days, I have to say it's fucking awful compared to the Deathadder 2013, the sensor is shit and skips constantly.

Weird that your EC1-A skips. The 3310 sensor itself is top-notch (despite that someone can not like the feel of the sensor). Maybe it's something wrong with your unit?

Return your mouse then if you still can, because there's no doubt that's something wrong with your unit. Personally I have Zowie FK1 (which have the same sensor as EC-1A) and it work flawlessly.

Very surprised you are having any probs with the mouse, what surface are you using? Maybe it's faulty device or you bought EC1 (non A version) by mistake Kappa.

In all seriousness, LOD is low on zowie, maybe you are lifting slightly as you move it, try the 'original' setting and it should help.

edit: Is there any difference between: M4 + M1 + M2 and M5 + M1 + M2? I did the M5 + M1 + M2 at first, due to Zowie's Manual labeling Mouse 4 as M5. Both of those cause the mouse-wheel to go dim, than light up after, so I wasn't sure if they're the same thing or not.

Also, why 500Hz and not 1000Hz? And do you think 800dpi/1600dpi will help solve the pixel skipping i'm encountering?

As far as I know all newer zowies have very low button delay now, all 3310 based mice. I'm sure h8m3 will be along to correct me if I am wrong, guy knows his mouse facts very well )

At least the first run of FK1s were laggy.
My ZA11 is similar to my alcor and abyssus, slightly laggier than logitech but better than most.

kinda confused how 3310 from zowie can be laggier than logitech especialy since logitech had quite a few mouse with angle snaping which add delay, tho logitech mouse are always ok in terms of sensor (shape is another story) which is not the case with Steelseries which is just totaly shit brand with so called esports (dont laugh) gear, with mouse with accel or neg accel, angle snaping and a huge response delay.

First off I have an FK2 same sensor, same implementation.

First I don't notice any button lag..none. Either what people are saying is just repeating crap they read on the internet somewhere and have never tired it themselves or this whole button lag thing is totally overblown or its fixed. Ill let you all draw your own conclusions on that.

Second at least on my FK2 the mouse feet are great. Ive had it for almost a year now and they are as good as the day I got it. If your wearing them out that fast stop using sandpaper for a mouse pad.

Coating is great after a year, the mouse stays fairly clean. I have no complaints.

buy the first FK, and tell us about the lag

Are the microswitches reliable and long lasting in these mice? I think my third G100s is starting to fail, and I have the EC2-A in mind.
