well i still have my old mx300 and it works, and now the g100s working fine for a year

i am in LOVE for salmosa asian.
it is very small for playing csgo, but for browsing, other games, laptop, is the best BEST beast mice i ever used.

my wmo got cable stripped and is my csgo mice.

for crossfire(shit game) since 125hz max i would use my g1.

for quake and reflex i perform better with wmo.

old mices are good but really depends for what for..

abyssus is lighter than krait but krait is smaller.

abyssus got a more comfortable shape, but krait's shape is more agressive.

if you're not playing at 1800dpi with the abyssus then you'll be forced to use synapse for custom settings.

krait got onboard memory so you don't need to use synapse once you did your settings (if you play at 400dpi it will remember the settings even after uninstalling synapse)

Worst thing is the build quality. Sensor was randomly soldered on the g100s i used. On every unit the sensor was slightly rotated in a different way. Awesome on a mouse without angle snapping. Besides that the mouse just doesn't feel good because of the weight and cheap plastic.

It feels good, just the soldering and overall build quality.

On the other hand, my MX300 is 9 years old. Flawless.

I think people have said it before here, the thing with Razer mice is that they are hit and miss in build quality. You can buy a deathadder that lasts years and you can buy a deathadder that lasts a month.

Thats why some love them and some hate them so much.

abyssus is bad man, sensor is NOT good, and it seems to be build with cheap materials (with fance colors nontheless)

- left mouse click registers as two clicks often
- sensor position located too low
- mouse 1 & 2 have a rim, so your finger has to be within the (already narrow) margin to click the button, you cant have your finger half over the edge

a higher build quality G100s with side buttons like an FK could be a big seller, i'd buy 100's.

How are you supposed to hold the mouse so that the buttons don't get in the way?

If the buttons are always under your thumb, they are either going to be triggered accidentally all the time, or they are going to be so stiff that they throw off your mousing if you ever try to click.

Big mice like EC1 or MX518 are the only ones where side buttons make sense.

Maybe they have really small hands? Personally i hate side buttons and would have liked it if my Zowie FK wouldn't have any sidebuttons.

Not if a good sensor is only defined by malfunction speeds. This seems to be the case for a lot of people.
Against the sensor of the G3 the G100s sensor seems imprecise as fuck. Especially on desctop.
Not to forget the ability to change CPI in steps of 50 (400-2000CPI,20steps in total) vs 250 (250-2500CPI,10steps in total, where everything feels wrong, expect 500 and 1000 CPI),
mouserates of 125,250,333,500,1000 vs. 125 and 500hz of the g100s.
The point is that its optical vs. laser. Thats ok. Just why didn't they use an optical sensor with the same customisation? Or at least a 1000hz mode? the G3 was released in 2006, and all they could come up with was the g100/s, with bad build quality, basicly 1000 CPI@500 hz only, and changed dimensions. I mean the 3090 was already there. They could just have made a proper relaunch of this proven shape, but they didn't.

So yea not much love for the g100s for me.

Regardless of what you think of early AM010, you shouldnt forget where the G3 was placed in comparison to where the G100s is now. G100s only made sense in the way it was, it was probably hard enough for a certain someone to get this thing distributed outside of asia.

Also A3090 has nearly the same limitations as AM010, just considering pure hardwarespecs, on the other hand AM010 has quite some nice features that havent been done before, also if anything it would have been S3095. ;)

As for why they havent used something with more CPI steps is simple, there was nothing, regardless of targeted price. Pixart is lazy and so was Avago, they had to develop their own sensors, AM010 has gone a long way since G100s. Not to mention that many "enthusiasts" are not a Fan of A3090 SROM 6x.

Just that the AM010 has even lower frames per second than the 3090 (which has already a very low framerate) Its hilarious to release this thing with a 500hz cap . Overclocking does nothing. We all know they've done this for a reason (eg. to keep the more expensive mice more interesting.) They already knew how to do this. (RX250 anyone?)

I own both G100s and Abyssus 3.5g (not the 2014).
I think the Abyssus is best. It feels higher quality, sensor feels better, buttons are really good.

G100s feel cheap, buttons can get bad after a bit, sometimes it helps to take it apart tho, which also helps with the squeekyness.

About removing the middle skate. I did that to one of my g100s. It does nothing. Logitech kept it a secret whats the deal with this thing.
I guess its an attempt to keep the lift off low. I've noticed a similiar thing on the WMO,
where the plastic around the sensor is more thick, so there is less light on the mousepad, in case your playing in a brighter environment.

It might even just improve the malfuntion speed, due to the slightly lower lift off. So if you're playing with a low sensitivity, it might not be the best to remove this thing.

my lmb has started to fail after 6 months. not working every other click unless i press very hard, and since i bought from ebay i have to wait on the seller to deal with logitech in getting me a replacement.

Unplug the mouse and rapidly click all of the buttons for thirty seconds and then plug the mouse back in and check if the problem is gone.

Logitech has been posting this basic troubleshooting step for a few years now, they say that this drains the caps of the mouse. My G100s was showing the same symptoms that yours is, the left click wasn't registering about 20% of the time. This troubleshooting step fixed it for me, at least so far. I have been using the mouse for a week or so now without a single missed click.

the problem in the g100s, results more from a misdesign in an electronical point of view, where the plastic of the actuation sticks under the buttons charge a static in the switches or the mouse, which leads to the doubleclick(or no click registering at all) problem.

Guys, I need a new mouse, what should I get G100s or the Ninox Aurora? Ofc G100s is cheaper and lighter if you remove the weight (I like light mice) and the shape seems equally terrible for both. But at least G100s seems more reliable with all the problems Aurora has like different button height and 0.6m/s malfunction speed.

aurora can do over 4m/s if you dont reset profiles in software(which should be fixed soon I assume) and the button height is the same for most customers and honestly it shouldn't really bother anyone, kinda hyped 'problem'

Well I don't need over 2m/s I find, so G100s has big enough malfunction speed for me. But some people in the aurora threads are saying this is way better than G100s etc, I wonder why. I'm tempted to just get the 100s since it's cheaper and from a trustworthy company. Any good arguments for Aurora? I don't need side buttons BTW.

My advice is to get the g100s over the aurora, depending on your financial situation. If you get a fully functional aurora that doesn't break for at least a few years then it is surely the better mouse imo, and you can reduce the weight by removing the top pcb so that it will weigh pretty much the same as the g100s. The only problem is it's a bit of a lucky dip as to whether you'll get a good one, this is why I'd say that if you can only buy one of the two, then buy the logitech.

if you get a g100s you better have a second mouse on hand when the lmb breaks after 6 months, otherwise you'll be out a mouse for two or three weeks while logitech takes their time sending you a replacement.

I am using the g100s lately and i like it. Tho i removed the metal plate weight that was inside because it was wierdly placed at the bottom and the weight repartition was not harmonized. I also use the LOD tape trick as someone suggested me. I wonder why the manufacturer is not just obturating the sensor lens a bit more so that the default LOD is lower.

i also noticed the sensor is wierdly placed, at the bottom so the sensitivity needs to be increased quite a lot. I would prefer a mouse with a sensor far at the top, it would allow the use of a lower sensitivity and the mouse aim would be more stable on the horizontal axis and require less DPI. And on top of that, having the sensor on the far top would decrease the LOD. I have yet to find any drawback for puting a sensor at the top.

The rear/bottom shape is a bit too high.

All in all the mouse is great, it feels extremly responsive and the mouse buttons/switch are so good. The sensor realy feels good. The shape is also nice but could be better. I will grab a g302 just cuz i can't help it.

Praxis I indeed was worried about the QC not being too good for the Aurora and it's more expensive so that's why I'll stick with G100s.
@JiyhuaWei I'm probably going to remove the weight as well, the lighter the better :) As for the LOD it's personal preference, I kinda like higher LOD actually since sometimes when doing those clutch shots I actually lift my mouse off the mousepad a bit and and slide around on my fingers, which seems to give me more precision.

About removing the weight, what's the best way of removing the teflon piece without wrecking it?

this is on my first g100s where i wasn't so gentle. despite how it looks, it still glides the same as it did before. it also holds the screw in which is kind of convenient. when i was done with it, i just took the handle of my screwdriver and smoothed it out a la rolling pin. my replacement which i just got today looks much cleaner but i can't be assed to unplug it and move it to somewhere with better lighting.

I'd suggest you aswell to just poke a hole through the mouse skate with a screwdriver since it's the fastest and easiest way. (On my first g100s I removed the skate first and then reapplied it but it's really not worth the effort)

You'll get a better glide if you replace the mouse feet anyway, the stock ones aren't too good.

the buttons aren't designed for fps gaming. you'll find a much softer click on the mouses geared towards fps gaming. works just fine though, cheap good form, etc. has my love.

actually jumped off the zowie boat when i learnt that there was a 16ms click lag, so even if i were an amazing player i'd still be a full server frame behind anyone with reaction shots. sacrificed zowie's excellent tracking for that bit of advantage in reaction time. not a full server frame with quake, but still could make the difference 64% of the time.

nah i simply use the g100s, because i like how cheap it is.

i've looked into replacing the microswitches but haven't gotten around to it yet. the form-factor only seems to be available from roughly the same switch that's already in there.

i've searched high and low for 'close-enough' to Omron D2FC-F-7N. There was a close looking Honeywell, but I haven't purchased it and tried to plop it in yet. Might just buy a new g100s incase something goes terribly wrong, and buy a bunch of close looking ones to see if i can get one with really light activation force.

For those who can't live without a previous/next button for browsing, I HIGHLY recommend using mouse gesture, for example with Strokesplus. It takes some time to adapt, but you won't go back.

It's actually easier and faster to do the previous/next gestures than clicking on the (often hard to reach) M4/M5 buttons.

For me, having M4/M5 is no longer a criteria for choosing a mouse. Nothing beats G100s shape and light weight anyway. Which is the most important factor for fingertip and claw grippers. The mouse is not perfect (500hz, sensor, cheap-ish build quality), but it's still nowhere near as bad as Ninox Aurora issues, and we've yet to see equivalent mice with a similar shell (G302 could have been close to perfect but the shape totally ruined the mouse).

If anything, it is likely that a g102 would be only for the asian market, as G100/s was originally intended, g90 which is the same as G100s, seems to be still widely available in Asia.

On the other Hand, G302 isnt exactly a bad shape, it just needs a few tweaks here and there to become more of an egg instead of a stealth bomber.

1) You are lying.
2) It's an RX250, not an MX300 - in that case, the $3 is justified.
3) You had STAGGERING luck, finding a seller who had absolutely no idea what he's selling.

30-50 bucks for a decent used sample is a REALLY good price. The even more rare boxed versions are approaching 100-150 bucks, and if it's sealed, it can easily go up to 200-250.

Logitech G100S and it's glitchy/crappy mouse buttons. It's on verge of not working anymore. It's already gone off to breaking point 2 times before when I had no choice but to open it up and fiddle with spring. It's not helping much however. At moment it puts my work to freeze, because I can't literally hold mouse button, it doesn't register that I hold it down. It often registers doubleclicks. It occasionally shifts into quirky behaviors, sometimes not registering clicks at all. It'd be great cheap mouse otherwise. I had to learn number of keyboard shortcuts to stay functional. Other than mouse wire beign stiff and interfering with mobility.

g100s here 4 years old, daily use. No issues.

I'm a g100s user. I bought a mouse in 2012 and I use it until now. The mouse was erased stickers, but it works without problems. Surprisingly reliable mouse. 6.5 years have passed since the purchase and it is not known how much remains.
I spend a lot of nervous games behind the mouse. Quake live and Dota

My mouse history:
- mx300 - awesome mouse - used for 9 years - stopped using when cable good broken
- Diamondback - I thought it's good mouse, but realized I'm in a big error when I came to my home town and played some promode back on mx300. After that I sold my Diamondback and fixed the cable on mx300 (used for 2 years)
- mx300 - good old mouse - used 3 years until it broke finally, that was sad moment
- g100s - good enough replacement except the left button that started to malfunction after 1-1.5 years, used for 2 years by cleaning triggers but it eventually was fucking annoying, double clicks etc.
- G Pro - using for ~2 years so far, it's very good, no problems spotted yet

yes now the evolution of the g100s its the g pro or the g203, im using the g203 its almost the same than gpro but half the price (cause logitech was testing the new sensor tech wich its flawless)

Getting double and sometimes triple click on middle mouse button after like 4 years of usage, which is extremely annoying because I open basically all links with that button, resulting in me regularly getting the same webpage opened and loaded on two or three new tabs.
