Played ALOT of borderlands in co-op with 3 other friends from quake which was really good fun. Then when the sequel came out I tried it but it just wasn't the same playing it solo.

what exactly is so awesome bout dwarf fortress?
watched a letsplay and the guy was setting up the game for 40 minutes and told you things you should not do if you want to have a good experience etc. ...
What I understand about this is that without knowledge how to setup the game, you have lost already from the start and your time invested into that game is already futile ... tbh. I don't like these masochistic frustrator games ... keep the difficulty at the level of games like quake and chess, easy to play, hard to master, still leaving you enough room for your own creative play ... besides from what I saw of this game its just too much managing of numbers, etc., like some boring deskjob in accounting ...

Just installed legendary edition again.. This will be my third time playing (played quite a bit in the past). Currently looking at mods, do you recommend any big gameplay mods?

you should probably start with the unofficial patches for each dlc + skyUI + SKSE. Othere than that i mcan definately recommend "better dialogue controls", "A matter of time", "better messageBox controls" and "Achieve that"
just register on nexus website and browse the top files, some pretty good mods there.
My rig is unfortunately too bad for fancy graphics mods, so I can't really recommend any.

EU4 is my most played Steam game by far! Civ 5 sucks though, dumb AI and iffy multiplayer.
