I have tried that mouse. It's great. It has bad mouse skates but that can be sorted. Buy without hesitation or regret.

This stuff should be dirt cheap in 2014. But, somehow, this stuff costs more than things that actually matter. Feel sorry for all those nerds getting wrapped up in the marketing hype!

Prices are not only determined by the product itself. For example zowie mice would be much cheaper if they sold as well as Razer gear, but they don't so they have to increase their prices.

Also when quoting years you have to consider inflation, among others. Yes the WMO is dirty cheap these days, but if they were to release it now, new and shiny it would be at least 40% "more expensive" in inflation alone, then you have to factor in the increasing R&D costs, that everything these days uses better materials and so forth, which would end up in that dirty cheap 2000 WMO costing up to 100% more in 2014.

You are WRONG.

The price of most 'gaming' mice in 2014 is ONLY determined by marketing. The R&D costs are the same as before. There has been no real innovation in this space for years. Ask (Skylit maybe?) if you don't believe me. Many gaming mice are still using 10 year old designs. Inflation is NOT a factor here. Sure the Microsoft Mice were retailing (such as IME) £35 in 2002. All of these mice cost no more than £5 to make. Guaranteed.

Companies like Avago have grown tenfold in that time and distribution channels / methods and costs are still the same. You HAVE been caught up in some marketing hype. Also, ask BST how economies of scale affected him. He is aiming for a price of 34.99 EUR for a Avago ADNS-3090 mouse and 29.99 GBP for his 'low-end' mouse. He is a start-up company, Zowie / rest of these companies are also making more money than you think and the market is a lot bigger than you assume. They definitely have the buying power. I got a Zowie EC2 evo white from ebay for 20 euros, 6 euros delivery. I'd recommend trying that if you're not in too much of a hurry.

U can get a g100s for like £15 or so from amazon uk.

does anyone know of a cheap xai-shaped mouse that is suitable for low sens? my xai's cable is fucked and i've lived with my deathadder for the last 2 years but I keep hoping for my xai to magically repair its self every 2 months. The shape, weight and material it is made out of is just l o v e. I might just end up putting another sensor into it or replacing it all together really. failing to do that i might just go out and splash money on a kana or a zowie fk (although i am not a fan of the fk's coating).

Just to mention since you brought it up with the Logitech: all of my CM stuff (Spawn, Xornet, Mizar, QuickFire Rapid) came with 3 year warranties, while Logitech went down to just 2.

check the g100s user reviews. LMB could fail in less than a year with missed clicks.

The mouse is a joke. My first one broke in 3-4 months. Got new from warranty and it broke in under one month. Left mouse button in both of them. Got a third one, tried it out, but wont even bother using it.

Mine's still going strong a year on. I have read a lot of complaints about the switches dying so I figured I'd put my positive story up too. Mine is the proper retail one with the blue top, not the black one I see around a lot.

What is the difference between the black G100S and the blue G100S? Isn't one just a 2014 and the other a 2013 version?

Also, interestingly, Logitech makes a "less durable" (according to Wikipedia) version of the G100S called the Logitech G90. This is only marketed in Asia however and is priced significantly less I believe.

i doubt either color is more proper than the other.
