Hopefully this will come with the Steam update. We've been playing for years and are just as confused as you are.

Nice to see you trying it. Yes only subscribed users can vote maps, trying to find a friend that has one and plays with you or at least spawns a pro server for you is the easiest way for people without subscription.

They HAD a "FIND MATCH" button.... but because of their seriously bad implementation they decided to remove the whole thing rather than to fix the implementation.

It's quite disappointing to see the state of matchmaking in QL when they seem to have the whole implementation at least partly in place already.

It's incredibly unintuitive for a new player to not be able to quickly find a match, preferably from a chosen set of maps at that, when I can't spawn a server myself.
I wonder what the thought process was behind these decisions. Surely they must earn more in the long run by having such options that will get more people instantly hooked so they eventually will subscribe, rather than have a pay-to-play wall which only the really stubborn players may try out?

There are a LOT of decisions I don't understand....

For instance how can QLranks use the same stats as the QL website did.... but the leaderboards on QL were completely disabled because they were too stressfull on the machines.
(Why not alter their queries (for the leaderboards) on their own database such that they were less intensive?..... QLranks queries THEIR database... even in a very roundabout way....)

Or why are there still no easy functions for clan vs clan play....
Only way for a clanmatch to start is to go on irc..... well GL with that when people just start...

This makes getting into a game and playing super quick; we've found you can go from clicking on the game, to firing your weapon in under 20 seconds. No queues, no waiting, just fragging.

For their steam release, they promised this. Doesn't sound like proper matchmaking though, RIP QL.

Too bad, i'd even like the game to ready both players up when we're tossed onto a server after having matched us for a duel so one can grind the ladder korean style. :p
