Maze - a 15 minute long

CPM movie closing a gaming chapter in the life of a German DeFRaG player who started in 2005. With this movie two defragger, Maze and Bliccer, want to say thank you and goodbye to the community.

This movie comes in all kind of flavours. Everything available in HQ, MQ, and LQ. A standard name & time hud, topviews of the maps for orientation and the COMPLETEPACK, which includes the topviews as a second video track, input subtitles, extra clips, all redesigned maps (you can use these for your own demos) and maze' demos.

Movie download is preferred to YouTube streaming, since latter doesn't support 50fps. Of course the author recommends downloading the completepack and starting the full experience by reading the info file inside.

Very entertaining runs and some really inspired editing here. Probably some of the best transitions I've seen and superb syncing! Easy 10/10.

Only couple drawbacks, imo, were the kind of rough tracking on the text at the outro. Considering how well the rest of the movie was done, the rough text tracking seemed out of place. Also, this is really minor, but I think perhaps it would have been better to leave the colors out of the hud elements (the icons for the weapons used for the run) since it made the hud a bit more distracting than it needed to be.

I did everything for the tracking at the end, edited the mapfile and put new textures in there, deleted all distractions... I think there are always small wobblings in the captured cams of mme... probably could have done better, sry

Musical pads was awesome too.

Some cams weren't dynamic enough for my taste but that's searching for negative stuff.

you can render 30fps in 0.5x with html5 so it becomes 60fps on youtube with 2x.

EDIT: Just watched the movie. Amazing. 10/10

Different styles in the same movie were refreshing to see, the transitions were amazing, the runs were amazing. The ending was heartbreaking, making me realise that the era of quake is nearing its end. Which is sad. ggwp maze.

really great movie, the ending was really well done!
good looking maps and transitions looked awesome in general.
only minor flaw imo is that the transition between two runs began too early, so, some run ends were a bit unclear (not being showed completly to the end).

It's a combination of cams in multiple versions of the map, Nuke and Maya. Using Nuke's cameratracking, exporting it over to Maya, adding animated tentacles, exporting as tga-sequence over to Nuke, final composite here.

I know it's a while since you posted this video, but, this is art.

Your control of the plasma gun is incredible. There should be a shrine in some Quake map made just for you. I watched this when you released it and somehow didn't rate/comment.
