At first I was pissed. Still kinda am that our lord and savior J.C. is working for scum... but then it hit me: Whatever happens, even if the occulus rift doesn't add up to its now 2 billion price tag, facebook has the kind of money to buy ID away from Zenimax and set it free.
Facebook has the kind of money to finance Quake. When you bring a 2 Billion dollar device to market having a killer app is necessary. So what if it costs $50 million to develop? Oh my god someone make a business case and translate it to silicon valley speak.
