g100s = win

Was considering this mouse yesterday in the mall but went for g400s which I'm comfortable with. Anyone with experience with both mice? I might acquire the g100s too for my collection if it's of the same rank which I doubt though seeing it's fishily cheap price (the reason I didn't buy it along with inferiority in dpi and hz).

If you like smaller mice, the g100s is a really great mouse. Even though it is pretty cheap, it doesn't feel flimsy like the other mice in its price range [abyssus].

I would rather love to hear its strong sides rather how it doesn't feel flimsy like the other mice in its price range :)

In last years I had microsoft 3.0, g5, g500, two g400 and now g400s - all are fairly big, can't quite imagine laying my hand on a noticeably smaller mouse tbh.

Good weight, not too heavy and not too light. The sensor feels excellent at 500 dpi and I've heard good things from people using it at 1000 dpi as well. I personally love the shape/size but if you are more comfortable with bigger mice than this might not be the mouse for you.

I like small mice so the xai and other steel series mice are nice with high dpi and stuff, had to wear down the mousewheel though to get it nice a scrolly and if there's dust in the sensor it will teleport or derp out pretty bad.

I've had a zowie ec2 for about a year now and have been happy with that. It's a little on the small side for me so I wish I had bought an ec1, although that is only slightly bigger. They can spazz out if you're a very low sens. player with no accel. Also, mousebutton4 on mine is registering a double tap almost every time I press it.

Ordered a g400 now, heard they're pretty reliable.

Go for a WMO or a zowie mouse. imo.

With any of these mice you can do very good ingame, doesn't really matter which one you are using. They're all very good mice. The best mice you can find on the market currently.

from my research
Rival has small +accel about 2%
g100s has jitter above 1000 dpi

2% of accel is almost unoticeable, also considering the fact that the sensor inside the rival is a very good one and tracks well aswell

i know that quite a lot of people use the g100s, including winz, and most of them are happy with it

winz uses the g100s at 1000dpi and tbh below 1000-800dpi isn't enough for windows @ 1920x1080 or games like LoL, dota 2 or starcraft

i mean you can change your sens in sc2 but it's basically like in windows, you can up or down the pointer and default at 50%

let's say you increase the starcraft sens to 75%, will it make your mouse skip pixels aswell just like in windows ?

also i'm not sure but, let's say you play with 400dpi @ quakelive, and your sens is higher that 4 (default sens), will it make your mouse skip pixels ? but if you have a sens < 4 , it's ok i guess ?

didn't notice pixel skipping in SC2. imo raw input always just ignore windows settings and its 'talking' directly to a mouse. For example, my windows settings are slower than SC2 settings.

Yes it's true, at least when I tried it with DA and G400 it was ugly using the mice on the desktop :S skipping pixels non stop!

i personally got 2 abyssus, 1 normal version, and 2nd mirror version, none of them jitter actually :)

I'd remove the DA from that list, the weight sucks and the rival/EC evo have a very similar shape while being way lighter.

DeathAdder is heavy to you? When switching to the 2013 one it took me a while to even be able to control it because it is so light compared to the G400 I was coming from.

Recently I tried WMO which is 80g... yea, now DA is heavy :p

Ok, I did some quick Googling and it seems they are about the same weight? This surprised me a lot because my G400 feels a lot slower to move. Maybe it's because the skates I have on it are way bigger and higher friction.

Isn't the G400s heavier than DA? I have DA/DA 3.5, I got a G400s as a present but I don't use it because of the weight, I know they weight almost the same, but I forgot which one is heavier (on paper, I don't have a scale).

DA is heavy for many people, for me it's not really that heavy either (even though I play with lighter mice now).

According to here, the G400s is 118g (+15g cord). I'm talking about just the G400, which is supposedly around 105g. The 2013 DeathAdder is lighter than the older models and should be around the same weight as the old G400.

I think the thick, heavy behemoth of a cable on the G400 combined with the big skates makes it feel a lot heavier than the 2013 DeathAdder, for me.

According to this guy, the G400 is 133g with the cord and 104g without, so that makes the cord 29g! That's a lot of weight to drag across your desk.

I guess a lighter, probably thinner cord would by itself make the G400s a lot better than the G400.

Really don't want any unnecessary shit on my computer. :P It's getting harder to find good mice. My Zowie is jittery as fuck and move on its own sometimes, and the old 1337 mice don't have thumb-buttons. :/

Which Zowie model do you have that jitters? O_O

EC1. It also double-clicks whenever it wants, quite often. Sometimes even the thumb-buttons.

so g400s/g100s or am/fk - i can guarantee you will be more happy with any of these than razer, steelseries or some other shit like roccat etc; a lot of pros play on steelseries and i honestly have no idea how they stand this crap, it's ofc due to sponsorship (but not really, sometimes they choose it over zowie/logitech), kinda not understandable to me, these mice really feel crappy

if i'd want to get ec2/ec1 i'd rather go g400s altho their kinda different so up to you, but my experience with ec2 isn't as good as other zowie mice

If you're looking for an ambidextrous mouse, go for g100s.

Once you remove the weight inside and apply "tape trick" (lod is a bit high on black cloth) it feels really nice.

I previously used wmo, then abyssus and I like g100s the most. If you feel like overclocking usb (not possible on win 8.1 afaik) and don't mind 400dpi you might also consider wmo. I don't recommend abyssus though because of its awkward shape. sometimes I felt like I couldn't control it as freely as wmo or g100s (worth mentioning wmo was "best" in that regard). Although, this might depend on grip, sensitivity, etc.

And I'm happy with it, I get not less than 40% acc in CA Quakelive. You just have to get used to the mouse you are using, any mouse can be good for you. I had Logitec MX518 before and it's laser broke down and got this optical Canyon mouse and I use it on the table, no mousepad, and it works great for me :)
