Nobody's walking away from Quake. NOBODY. BEATHC.

After disappearing from the radars of quake scene for a solid decade, Roman "Polosat1y" Tarasenko comes back with the VOD of him playing losers final on CPL Cologne against Oskar "LakermaN" Ljungström. Analyzing a bit, but more about remembering good ol times. Polos gonna post some more demos, from time to time, his own and somebody's else. The next one is going to be... BarrysWorld 4v4 EuroCup. Devil's POV.
Fuck. Do you remember this sick game? And devils unholy shotgun?

And yes, he's commentating russian only for now, but its been asked already to provide an english subs, and Polosat1y's going to.

Yeah, actually, its the way it is.

Roman "Polosat1y" Tarasenko will replace Sergey "Evil" Orehov in the DeliberateMurder lineup so he could defend the colours of 102 tag on all international events. And to make this happen, Anton "Cooller" Singov is gonna provide Polosat1y the Car of Time - why would you think Cooller needs this car salon, huh? -, so that Polozzz will travel into the previous century, where he had the proper dedication, 20 hours in a day to train and no adult-life obligations. And all the rulezzz he ever needed.

Btw to all those +back in QL/ztn/dm13 whiners:
watch this game -- 12-13 minutes of it is +back with rocket/rg, no LG use (I guess it's early version of OSP, right?). If it wasn't for polos telling some interesting background info I'd fall asleep after 5 minutes.

Do you remember lg-ing with a ball-mouse and OSP netcode? Like, you've got no wrist, no wrist at all, and no elbow, no elbow at all. You have to aim with your shoulder only)

Ye I kinda do, 20%+ LG overall was considered good aiming. Seeing few LG use in this demo and polosat1y recalling in the video that LG was very hard to hit I remembered it how it actually was.
Also I laughed when in the later stages of the game they meet in PG room, both on different ends of it, and Aim goes forward with rockets instead of LG hehe.

Just like RL in q3/ql is more of a positonal weapon than in QW. So was LG in osp compared to what it became after Xerp. It changed the fundamental balance of the game. From being a high dps positonal gun, it became a insanely high dps whenever gun, lazily explained..

It ruined the game to a large extent in my eyes. But I also believe that Quake should be a balance between brain and aim. Whereas this change tipped it in the aim side's favor.

But I'm also a grumpy nostalgic :)

I remember writing the names of tournaments and big players on my desk at home and in my school notebooks \o/, adoring them just like football players. I was so obsessed with q3. 2000 was a magical year, iirc also with the lan final of the first Eurocup.
