Making a 'digital theme park' in the Middle East. It's essentially like a cyber cafe but instead of presenting a keyboard/mouse/screen, we're hiding all that and trying to create pure simulation environments. Lots of people have done this before, but I'm hoping to bring lots of different simulators together in one venue under a strong brand and storyline. Should be announced early next year and we'll see how it goes.

Awaiting 'Samsung Galaxy Gear' smart watch. Samsung have just confirmed that it will be launching on September 4th!

I read that too, but I think Samsung are just _announcing_ the watch on the 4th. That would mean it would be generally available some time next year.

what's the point of a smartwatch if you have a smartphone?

Even if you don't take your phone, they can still track you.

The Samsung one is going to be a fully functioning phone etc to sort of replace your phone.

Not so keen on these ones that link via bluetooth and give you some of your phone functions.

I suppose that the watch is always in the same place on your wrist, and doesn't need to be taken out of a pocket or unlocked. It doesn't make any noise, just vibrates. However that means you never miss a notification, message or call. I don't like to check my phone all the time so I've found it quite useful over the last two days. The preview text you receive for emails seems to be just enough for most purposes.

It doesn't sound like much, I know, but I'm finding the watch quite useful. Being able to tell the time without pulling out your phone doesn't hurt either.

I genuinely haven't worn a watch for about 15 years. Not enough gadgets on a normal watch!

smart watches are for homos & most of them (real ones, not pictures of future potential) look completely shit (like the pebble).

If i was going to overpay for a watch then it'd be an ice watch

Don't wear watches, I'm always on the look out for a CASIO TS-100 though., had one as a kid and used to go around recording the temperature of everything which was interesting as it only recorded ambient.

This is the only watch i would ever wear again. And one day, I will buy a mint one.
