I would think that especially for a cup on a new map, you'd want the highest number of signups possible. 100$ for first prize is a well established amount, so with your donation and yellack's I'd stretch it out to top 4 or even top 8. (Can't be bothered to come up with an exact suggestion since I don't quite remember how double elim works in terms of placings ;) )

Not sure really. I think wide distribution make sense when there is really a lot of money out there, and you want to sustain more players who all invested a lot in preparation.

Here is about a new map. There is a much wider pool of players, who could - if they were to invest a bit of time - top all the others. A 200$ winner takes it all could lead to that.

Tbh I think it's not all about twitch, more about internet providers.

Also, have you tried rtmpdump.exe + vlc thingy? Worked flawless for me on 720p+, whereas from twitch video was freezing every 5-10 seconds.

Well if I can watch streamed 1080p on every other site like youtube etc without a problem, but I get stuttering at 360p only on Twitch, then by my logic that has got to be Twitch's problem... but will try this rtmpdumb thing you mention... haven't heard about it - will google now thx.

Make a minimum player checkin to receive the cash, so at least 16 players that played matches so if you don't get that # the cash prize is removed or reduced,

I want niggas to earn it, not have a free ride, especially for new maps (need a lot of games played so we can see how good the maps are)

Rather than upping and upping the prize pool of these single tourneys I would like to see more of the sort one or two weeks apart to create a feedback loop training-tourney-training-tourney. This would probably help us to a great show in the future instead of throwing all the money out at once at less prepared players. It would also show how the maps hold up over time while being continuously being played on. At last, it would probably push popularity more than one single tourney that comes and goes and then it is all back to the usual mappool.

It's a LOT better now than previous versions are, plays more balanced and the out of control player can safely place some traps here and there, but from my experience today, the spawns could work on a little revamp again, and that would be perfect. I guess initial spawns can be good as they are now and my shit start against evil is probably just because of the lack of experience on the map. I assume next time I get that spawn I'll probably lookout for my opponent's location before I make a move. But some spawns are still very harsch in my opinion. EG, I would move the spawn on the rocket-above-ya location closer to the rocket and further from the opening of the door.

At first, I wasn't a fan, but the more I watched the cup, the more I really started to enjoy the cerebral element of it. I think this map could be just as intelligent as blood run.

I'm really liking Sinister now. It's fucking great.

It's like ztn/t7 level of awesomeness.

It's way better than Silence and cure (sorry bruv)

Also, I never thought i'd see someone dominating cypher so fucking hard.

I mean cypher dominated cooller a lot (save a few times) but evil is now dominating cypher the same way, and Cypher can't take it.

gotta say i havent seen such a distinctive tactial style on any of those new maps.

the item-layout (the 2 YAs!) is fantastic. It almost reminds me of dm13. Not as easy to camp, but you definetly have a good chance to play out of control if you secure your positioning.

the map isnt even completely +back-friendly, yet it creates fantastic oppurtunities for tactical play.

deffo the very best map of all the new ones. i like cure a lot, but... Sinister has HUGE potential. I can see it up there with the likes of ztn, t7 and dm13.

really really hope this new version makes it permanently into map-pools. fantastic addition, no matter what you toss for it

Thats how quake seem to work at higher levels.
Cooller > evil
Strenx > evil
cypher > cooller
evil > cypher
Evil > rapha
rapha > strenx
pavel > cooller
Killsen > pavel
etc..

The guy which style of play works against most players have the highest chance of winning, used to be rapha and cypher. Now its evil, he have been lucky to avoid strenx and cooller for the most part though.

From purely a spectator's view I found Sinister's layout to be a little buzy and disjointed, congested for my taste. It might play great (I'll leave that to the players) but is one depressing looking map.

I hope all participants are aware of the clipping bug in delerium! Would hate to see a game decided on that, since itll prob be a low scoring map. Its above RL in the lower YA room.. don't kill yourself shooting down thru the grate!

Its getting fixed in the next update but thats not till after the cup obviously.. a heads up!

Just checked it and I see what you mean. I didn't notice this before, but there isn't anything wrong with the clipping, its just because that area uses curves. The problem with curves is they look perfectly round, but the hit detection for them isn't.

The problem can be solved for now if you use r_subdivisions 80, this matches the display of the curves with the hit detection.

I'll change that area to use normal blocks (brushes) in the next update, which will solve the problem completely.

Can you also fix Terminatria?

You know, stuff like floating lamp in RL/YA room, or the hole below 25 bubbles above quad (that was the only update the map got since February... adding a hole in the floor...)

Not to mention the original version had no problems with FPS but the one released in February drops to 60 on slower CPUs (yes, CPUs, not GPUs), for example if you look from the 25 bubbles at the rail.

(You'll find more technical errors like misplaced textures reported you-know-where)

Are you sure its the curves doing all of it? Seems more than that... the area where you can't shoot thru is rather large and shaped oddly... heres a screenshot to try an illustrate the area that is solid:
