Yes, it costs money ($5), Stardock is a great company though and I assume it will be supported longer after the other alternatives. (That and it was the only one that got rid of the corner hotspots and was stable that I tried when I upgraded to windows 8)

I'm just curious. What are you using the start menu for? I only use it for searching for apps anyway. So I don't think I would need these apps on Windows 8, since u can search the same afaik.

I simply don't seem to need start button anymore... If you want to open a program just do win+q and search.

i agree. newer is always better.

Using classic shell, works fine (if a little slow sometimes loading programs).
