What was the story with avek and cypher?
Does SM have some sites and community where one could get that info?

This game has no viewers but so many tourneys right now. More people playing in tourney than watching.

To be honest I think everyone knew that a team with avek, cypher and strenx was never going to work. The main reason is that strenx would always be the outcast in the team, avek and cypher are a lot closer than they both are with strenx, so obviously strenx would always be the minority for every decision they were going to make. Also last time I checked it seems that strenx and Millenium picked 2 other French guys, it makes sense since Millenium is a French team, plus it makes communication a lot easier in the team, keep in mind that avek, cypher and strenx weren't really known for their outstanding english skills.

And I really don't think that strenx kicked them out, he probably doesn't have even that authority, but cypher of course isn't going to tell all the boring details and it most certainly has some kind of truth in it.

As a last note, I recently read that fazz was very disappointed by the latest patches for SM, saying that they were going in the wrong direction, a while back I remember a screenshot where strenx was pretty much saying the same thing. I think a lot of ex Quake pro are pretty disappointed about how SM is evolving, and after all in terms of prizemoney when you compare it with LoL or Dota2 they aren't even a whole lot money to be made, so it's probably not enough to keep these players motivated.

one correction: cypher said on russian stream that strenx kicked him and avek from his shootmania team. with the emphasis on kicked.

also he said that he likes shootmania, and avek thinks opposite.

btw, they picked 2 frenchies in millenium. Thek1ng and akm. Thek1ng played with team france in quakelive ctf, and akm is winz little brother and arguably the best shootmania player atm.

This. It just shows that the pros who left Quake behind to make money on ShitMania will come back to a game they really love. At least that's what we can hope for!

If they really loved quake they wouldn't have left it to make (more) money. I don't blame anyone to make money like that but I'm not really looking forward for them to return either. And even if they all return, that wont save quake as an e-sport title anyway. But ok, if people want to donate money to pay Strenx & co for playing quake that's their choice. I rather play myself :)

Strenx is doing this for free. Then I really think some have moved there for the money and still prefer Quake, and even if they don't I'd rather see duels with quality players than empty events like the future seems to promise us.

Is Shootmania even relevant in North America for Dahang to even get involved? He's with Evil Geniuses, so he has an obligation to his team. I'm sure if EG said we're getting into Shootmania, Dahang would be the first guy to lead that team.

You should check out what some Quake pros said about Shootmania. Some they said they would never play the game competitively if it stays like this.

Most top players don't stick to games, they stick to money. They'll immediately jump ship if they can earn more money in another game.
Coller is somewhat irrelevant to ShootMania but he has repeatedly said during the end of the Q3 era that he won't compete for the small prize pools, probably the only pro to admit to this.
