PureTrak Talent is quite close to the feel of the Razer Goliathus line as far I have heard, you might want to test it out to see if its works for you.

I would give a chance to the CorePad Cerro XL - its like a better zowie g-tf speed.

PureTrak Talent. I've had mine for a little over 2 years now with around 3-5 hours of game play 5 days a week and it still feels like day one. Throws in the wash too.

Whatever you do don't go for any of the QcK products as they will wear down faster than your Goliathus Speed will.

I have a Puretrak Talent and its the best mouse mat I've ever had. There are some others I want to try but haven't got round to yet, but if you want a pretty much flawless fast cloth mat, you won't be disappointed with it! I know its a bit expensive to have it delivered from the US, but it is worth it.

Artisan Hayate; it's better than the Talent IMHO.

I prefer the cm storm pad cos its very thick (5mm) and soft. Its also cheaper than the Zowies, Talents and Artisans (lol $70).
I don't know how long it will last because I just bought it but its so smooth and fast. It even lowered the already low LOD on my Zowie AM.

The linked review doesn't help much, does it feel fast and silky smooth like the talent OR fast and kinda rough like zowie GTF ?

Since I have finally found the "ideal" mouse for my preferences ( zowie ec2 EVO ) I now look for the "perfect" mousepad

zowie GTF has a pretty fast glide, but I can't feel much feedback, also can't grip my mouse properly because the weave feels kinda rough every time my poor pinky makes contact with it, plus its base is really SHITTY, won't stay flat on my desk no matter what :S

hien value has the same "comfort" problem, is surface is even rougher than GTF but the glide is also much more controllable as well, allowing me to do super accurate flickshots

The puretrak talent that i bought back in 2008 feels silky smooth, with no worn-out middle section or anything, the glide is fast smooth and very controllable, perfect mix of smoothness and friction

BUT this pad can also feel very incosistent, especially if you sweat a lot during the summer and/or humidity is high-ish in your room, so it can feel uncomfortably SLOW at times, almost unusable :(

Artisan hayate is pretty much the perfect mousepad when new, humidity and sweat resistance, fast but also soft so there's a lot of control when you need it, looks rough but it doesn't bother my skin at all, it's like puretrak talent v 2.0

But as time passes in my dusty and humid room, it collects a lot of dust daily, eventually dust gets stuck in the fibers

tried rubbing it off with an old toothbrush : no result

tried washing it in the sink with luke warm water and left it to dry, dust/hair was still stuck in the fibers

I even bought a lint roller just for the pad's sake, it instanly feels faster after a good clean but the dirt is still stuck so the glide is pretty incosistent , sometimes a little slower sometimes a litler faster, sometimes "ethereal" etc

Soooooo, what should I expect from this pad ? :D

I don't have the Talent but the feel is fast and smooth and not fast and rough like the GTF. Speed-RX is faster/more slippery than both old Goliathus speed and the new Fragged edition. I have those as well lol.

Its a lot faster than the Roccat Taito too.

As for humidity and sweat I really don't know. The pad is only 3 days old and its quite cold here. There is not much sweat and rubbish on the pad atm. So far so good.

I don't have any experience with Artisans. It seems like you already have all the best pads, so maybe try to find Speed-rx at a good price and see if you like it :D

Any cloth surface pad WILL get build up after heavy use especially in the summer/hot rooms. My Talent does this as well but when it does, I just throw it in the wash and it comes out like day 1 again. It's really simple.

DO NOT TRY THIS WITH ARTISAN PADS. I ruined 2 thinking that because of the hefty price they were for sure machine washable... wrong. Both curled beyond use and eventually separated from their rubber base.

At the end of the day, $25 for a Talent pad that'll last you a few years is a proven choice.

on a different note, if you want a mousepad that will never die, just get an icemat (steelseries i2 now)

glass + slick, could be too slick or cold for your hand to touch, and if your room is dusty or some shit then it collects, but a quick windex/wipe and you are golden again forever.

make sure your mousefeet don't scratch it and have good height so the underside of the mouse doesn't fuck with it either

I don't work for them and certainly don't have any desire to. They make a good product and I have no problem recommending them. deal with it.

and for the summer... I really meant the moisture the rain brings in. Moreover, I don't game outside and don't keep my temp @ 20C *rolls eyes*

I just rebought the talent for work, and tbh the friction is a lot less than the one i have been using for a year (even after washing the old one). The stories about not wearing out are obviously utter bullshit. If you don't want wear buy a glasspad.

well it does wear out, but that happens slower than for other fast clothpads. And occasional washing kinda helps to fix the used spot and overall slowness to some extent. If you want a longer lasting fast clothpad you should look at rough&fast 'control' mousepads like artisan hien, zowie g-tf, SS NP+, goliathus control and others, they don't rly feel that smooth so you have to adapt a bit, but they still offer quite low friction
But as he already said - every pad is gonna wear after some time, even icemat can after several years depending on usage

I've been using mine for a little over 2 years... close to 3 actually and it feels exactly the same after about 8-10 washes. I have a Stealth for work, which is the same surface apparently, and it the same gig.

the Talent isn't a new pad... it's been around for like 5 years now and the reason it's so popular is because of the surface and it's life span.

How do you know it feels exactly the same as brand new?

I mean, it's sorta difficult to recall exactly how some mouse pad felt nearly 3 years back.
For me it would be, at least.

I have been comparing both pads next to eachother (the new one i bought and the 1+ year old one i had). The new one feels way too smooth, compared to my old one. I'd say that the new one is literally twice as smooth.
I just wanted to mention that, as some people seem to hype it too much :).

I have cancelled my Puretrak Talent order.

Cause i just bought a stealth which is the same surface as the talent but just in a smaller size (hence why It's for work) and side-by-side it's the same surface
