It is with great pleasure that I bring to you the release of Unrealnorth 2 by Vlad. The German movie-maker has been busy preparing his latest release for us...

UnrealNorth 2 has been a long time coming, with various movie-makers stepping up to do the title then losing the motivation or opportunity to continue. Vlad has had plenty of both and so is the one to finally bring us this epic movie for our great site and community. Many thanks to him for his time and effort!

Around 80 demos have been used from 30 players of the UnrealNorth community.Vlad will be taking a break from movie-making for a while, so enjoy his latest creation until such time as he decides to make another.

cpm movement is graceful even in 3rd person cameras, in this movie it looks shaky and messy cos of its 'not so fluid' movement

I meant the impact for the community. I didn't compare the quality, camera styles, soundtrack (all of which are good but not exactly the same as tc and especially not as tc2 Xd plz). But my point stays: It's a movie which makes people realise there's another community, and shit is quite nice there c:

brings back some memories!
Good to see some names I recognise (yay nex and astz!)
Thought for the most part the frags were very good for a ut movie
The music was poo (matter of taste I know but still)
The editing was very well done if a bit unoriginal
Still overall a very good film though. I've always got a place for Finnish It in my heart though!
Also some of the maps were so bloody bad! Brrrr.
8/10 :)

UT2k4 was the first DM fps i played seriously online and even tho I prefer Quake now, watching this makes me miss it somehow.

Haha :D. dm6 was converted to UT back in the early UT2k3 days and have been played alot ever since. Aerowalk came much later (not many years ago if I am not mistaken).

The shieldgun reflects the shots from the shockrifle. First the shock ball gets reflected and then the primary shock hits the ball and make a shock combo which kills the guy with the shock :)! Really unlucky with the shock there ;P

Was ok. The movement looks kind of awkward but there were some nice combos and hitscan. One of the songs (maybe 2nd?) was terrible and I had to skip ahead.

good movie.

i cant for the life of me find a reason, why anyone who would want to play an fps, would favor running around and shooting at navy seals and terrorists, over beeing a space marine, running around and shooting with awesome weapons in great looking levels. and the dodging mechanic is even beginnerfriendly.

how is cod more popular than this? it should be super appealing to people!

Because it's too complicated to set up and those few who mannage it gets destroyed (like in any other proper DM game) the first hundreds hour they play. :D

Sure... strafe-jumping and tight item timings might make Q3 a higher level game, but UT2004 produces such random frags that I'll watch one of these videos any day! Are all those mid-airs on people who dodged off the wall after getting launched across the room when they blocked shock combos with their shield guns due to skill or luck? I don't care anymore, people are flying all over the place and dying, and that's awesome! :D

Tight items timing? There are items to time in UT aswell? :D. Is your point that there are usually more items to focus on in the Quake maps or the fact that items usually respawn faster or what?

Faster item spawns means there's less slack in Quake to run around the map if you want to maintain control. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the relaxed timings in UT. 55 seconds allows for much more interesting gameplay than "run to the RA! now run to the YA! now run to the MH!" but it's been argued that the UT system is actually too loose for competitive play. *shrugs*

Hm I don't agree with the compettetive part. 100 armor, 50 armor and shock rifle (or another weapon) is timing enough for compettetive. But yeah the Quake items do spawn often compated to UT, but you also get from A to B faster in quake than you do in UT.
