DA 3.5G after installing newest firmware is best, but shape is shit.

EC has ADNS-3060 with tuning lens. Some people say that new lens decrease a prediction, but I don't believe it.

What is prediction?

It's really hard to suggest anything when we don't know your preferences.

- What is your sensitivity (in-game, in Windows, DPI)?
- What is your grip (fingertip, claw or palm)?

That's a true story,

Sensitivity is about 1.4 but I wanna build it up higher. (dont know yet if it's good you know.

Dpi 1600 (highest for mx518, wanted to go higher aswell if i could)
My grip is just palm

So, in my opinion there are two ways:

- First, you buy G400, which has shape known to you.
- Second, you buy DA 3.5G, which has shape you like, as you wrote in thread.

Both of them are technically flawless.

Well, I do not like the shape mx518(G400)
In my hand it feels like f*ck..
the thumb and pink space on the mouse doesn't feel really confortable to me..

I guess my problem with the DA will be the space for my thumb because of the sidebuttons, i would push them or the space would feel pretty well because I never use sidebuttons on a mouse as well..

More suggestions? :$

Palm user here with DA (3g), and I have a small hand. The thumb for me rest exactly between the side buttons (on the glossy surface) and the mouse pad surface. But i can fairly easily use the side buttons by moving my thumb upwards closer to my index finger (which i find hard to do with the mx510/mx518).

But what i hate (and probably many others too) is the glossy surface. If there is dirt/dust on it if feels really nasty. I have to clean the glossy surface all the time.

How does the G500 compare to the G400? My local store doesn't have the latter.

Flawed sensor (very sensitive on sufrace, acceleration and bad feeling) vs. flawless sensor.

Meh at the end of the day, every mouse can have something to dislike, but my top 3 is the Zowie AM, G400 w/o prediction and the Deathadder black edition.
Probably the only 3 mice that don't piss me off in some way.

Deathadder is definitily more palm like then the G400. MX518/G400/G500 are more for people who have a bit of a hybrid grip between palm/claw.

If you hate the glossy surface (as do I), get the Black Edition which has a layer of rubber on the sides. Sounds like you should just get a black edition DA.

I just ordered a G400, I will post a brief review after a little while using it here if this thread is still alive in a couple of weeks.

The new batch is great. Though currently I'm swapping back and forth between the Zowie AM and the G400. 2 great mice, still need to decide on the shape I like most.

Zowie EC1/2 are pieces of shit. The buttons inevitably start malfunctioning within a few months. On my EC2 the sensor stopped working altogether. The wheel was bugged too, but that's a minor issue.

Zowie; never again!
