my personal tactic against similar things is to pick up that RL every time I'm near it

IIRC you don't hear the RA and YA spawnpoints either when your on the rail ledge, so if your standing on the tele side of the ledge you might want to check out YA

should you not have anything to tell about the spawns on that map i could give you a few ideas, even though i don't think i'm any better than you at duel but i like t7 a lot.

This tutorials are great, but your voice is so painfully unenthusiastic, it's really hard to watch for 11 minutes straight.

Thanks. Will improve for the next ones. The current videos are mainly a teaser. I have big plans. I need to sort out my dreamhack trip and bring enough bier to convince some folks there on helping me.

Just to avoid rising unrealistic expectations, the plans include:
- Provide Dreamhack casters with these visualizations. They could use them before a match to show the map layouts, or after a match to discuss what happened, possibly interviewing the players.
- Talk with some pros, and discuss the potential of making map guides, using these visualizations. I have not tested it yet, but I have the feeling these make discussing a map way much easier, as you can point locations, have an overview and so on.

No guarantees for any of the two, but I will do my best.

Didn't intend to bash you or your hard work, it's just that this has great potential that is otherwise wasted on dull presentation.

Yeah I haven't watched this one yet (bookmarked for tomorrow :)) but judging by the first two, I like your voice. I would go with 'naturally relaxed' over 'falsely lively' any day.

I agree, just go with what you feel comfortable...forcing will probably make it worse.

Something I've been wondering for a while now.. 50 % of the possible spawns get selected when you kill your enemy. At what exact time are these spawnpoints determined?

- The moment you kill your enemy, your position is immediately compared to all of the spawns. So it depends on the place where you fragged him.

OR

- The moment your enemy actually taps out (1,2,3,4 or even 5 seconds after you fragged him), your position is calculated on the exact moment your enemy taps out and hereby a spawn will be chosen.

I've always thought it was the latter one, but somehow I'm not sure.

One thing to keep in mind: enemy can click/respawn between 2-4 sec after killed, and to me it seems spawning takes "some time" between clicking and actually respawning on the map

so imho it's the 2nd, but the moment you click is when possible spawns get determined and 0.5 s later or so you finally spwn

This would be definitely possible. But...

the challenge is to put together the right people to make it happen. Besides all motivation problems, there is the additional legal issue, where you have to hack QL (as for instance WolfcamQL does). This is illegal. It is tollerated with Wolfcam, and it may be tollerated for this as well, but still it draws away from the cause.

I would love to contribute if anyone with the necessary knowledge would step in.

i am absolutely positive it calculates spawn position AFTER the opponent clicks because i frequently kill people in ZTN rail, then immediately put my back against MH wall, and that seems to work pretty well for forcing the spawn rape.

Why not just run around the maps and explain to people by showing them with a demo and then get Qlive demos to youtube it.

Get some pros on figuring it out live, what if we do this, or that, what happens if I die here etc.

That would be neat. Problem you have is, this information could be undone with any changes in the spawn code or positions.

You say "somehow" way too often.
