If it isn't THAT map, personally i like it, has this TF2 feel in it, smooth textures, however i still stand by 2ez, well least until i've tried the new mid, i see that the direct base-to-base rocket spam has been taken care of. Nice job.

Isn't it relatively easy to port a map to ql from q3? The way it is now just gives the contestants more freedom (and allows e.g. easy beta-testing with other people).

well, osp ctf seems dead. I always have to start ql to have a ctf match.

that I believe. If you use a browser like qtracker you can watch for activity on the CPM servers, but I assume you prefer vq3 for ctf (for some reason I'll never understand ;) )

Most important reason: You can playtest it with lots of people and can find out flaws/correct them. In QL you only can test it with bots.

Trying to make original maps for this game is entirely pointless, hence the sheer volume of conversions. You can actually test conversions beforehand.

i'm a sucker for gothic themed maps like storm3dm6 and comp3map7.. screenshots look awesome :D

I haven't played Quake lately and I haven't been following the competitive scene since the end of Quake IV. So, after watching some Qcon demos and a few other finals I have only one question: if the game is basically the same as Quake III OSP, why the hell do they play some randomly picked maps? Why have dm6 and ztn1 been dropped? t4 too seems to be played much less. The new maps they play seem to be unbalanced, one player ends up dominating every fucking time. And when the other gets a frag, he dominates because he gets 3 frags in a row. In the old days only godlevel master players could do this and not often.

Are there no duel maps?

Should just put all of them in QL, I mean if they are finished enough for a mapping competition you might as well. Some will get played some won't, no different than most of the premium maps.

I'm curious what gellehsak will pick, given that he's a movement legend.

bst3dm1rc1 is my favorite, Penumbra seems like a single player level out of Doom or Quake.
